Lovely accomodation in a great location which is a short stroll to the harbour. We had a great intro and welcome from the owners, including milk and cakes. We would love to come back again in the summer! Thank you
We arrived yesterday to a lovely welcome from Marie. Brilliant accommodation with everything you could need. Very comfortable with off road parking which is an added bonus in Brixham. Really enjoying our stay. Would recommend to all looking for a relaxing place to chill.
Warm welcome from Marie(the owner) who gave us detailed instructions for everything in the cottage and eateries in Brixham- we heeded her advice and were not disappointed!!
Lovely cottage, fully fitted kitchen - everything one would need for a long stay( we were only there for four nights), so didn't use the dishwasher and washing machine, but they are there for people to use.
Absolutely spotlessly clean and Marie provided a 'welcome pack' of bread, scones, jam, butter and vino, which was very kind as we were only there for a few days.
Lovely stroll into Brixham and therefore an excellent location.
Met Dave, Marie's husband who again, was very helpful and met their amazing dog! He guards their property well, but when my husband bumped into them in Brixham, the dog was really friendly.
The owners are available if you need them, but otherwise give you the space to enjoy your break - which is great.
Good to have off road parking and gates to the property as it provided extra security.
Some reviews mention a problem with the television, but once my husband worked it out, it was absolutely fine and Dave had offered to show him, if he couldn't manage it.
Due to the quirkiness of the cottage i.e. Sloping ceilings, one needs to be mindful when in the shower, because you could bang your head, but now you know, you will be aware.
We had a great time and watching the trawlers unload their catch is a must.
Thank you Both
What can I say?! What a wonderful holiday experience! We absolutely loved staying in this house and exploring the local area.
Dave and Marie were wonderful hosts. They gave us all the information we needed to use the cooker etc and a tour of the house. Dave showed us how to use the fishing rod if we wanted to go fishing and crabbing gear and also how to use the tv system. The house is stunning and we loved the bathroom. It really is beautiful inside and we were very surprised to see luxury scones, butter, jam, wine and fresh flowers for us on the table. That was very much appreciated! Thank you!
There was a table with all sorts of interesting leaflets and tourist guides for you to help yourself to if interested including a pen and pencil provided to use. Plenty of books to read and dvd's to watch if you didn't fancy the vast array that was on the tv system.
The bedrooms were lovely both with good quality chest of draws and space to hang our clothes on a portable hanging rail. Our 2 children shared the bed in the second bedroom. My daughter said that her bed was the most comfortable bed she had ever slept in! We all slept very well!
The garden is very lovely with a huge banana tree and stream. It is totally secluded with no one overlooking at all from the main road because of its high walls and shrubs and flowers. It is lovely to sit in and very picturesque listening to the stream. We all enjoyed a bbq one night in the garden with the garden furniture.
It takes 15 minutes to walk to the Brixham harbour from the house so we had no need to use the car when we spent a day or 2 exploring Brixham. We tried out crabbing (with all the other families!) and chilled out on Breakwater beach - lots of rocks for the children to climb on and explore with a cafe providing the necessary ice cream! It was fascinating finding out about Brixhams fishing heritage. I recommend the Weatherspoons pub 'Vigilance' which also has lots of pictures and information on the walls about Brixham. We saw a seal in the harbour twice! One of those times it was following close behind people on their kayaks. Very amusing to watch for all the families.
We were going to travel to Aldi to get our shopping supplies but instead discovered a very handy Sainsbury's mini supermarket in the petrol station 5 minutes walk from the holiday home. We also got supplies from the Tesco express and Co-op in the pretty high street leading down to the harbour.
Besides Brixham harbour we recommend Berry Head for fantastic views and stunning Dartmouth which we visited on Regatta day. The car ferry over there is a lovely experience. This holiday home is in a PERFECT location for exploring the whole of the English Riviera.
We had such a lovely time thanks to Marie and Dave and their warm hospitality and will certainly be back! We feel lucky to have found this gem of a holiday home. It is so cosy it quickly felt like home for us.
On arrival the cottage looking amazing, the owners were very welcoming. It gave us a relaxed base for exploring old haunts and catching up with Grandma's old friends.
Top notch accommodation, tastefully furnished. I would heartily recommend this holiday cottage. Marie is a wonderful host and made our holiday experience that bit better.
