When we walked into the bar we were greeted by the barman and acknowledged by the other customers. We ordered our drinks and by the time we had found a table the customers had included us in their conversation. It made us feel very welcome. We ordered food which was hot and tasty and there was plenty of it. We will certainly go there again.

the food we had here before was fantastic and the waiter we had was great that was 6 moths ago when we were down on holiday he was fast and efficient very friendly and had a joke about his height (to tall to stand up straight!!) the chef came to check us and was just as friendly as the waiter and the barman was hilarious! then we came back recently and regret doing so. had our lunch which was still good but the waiter was replaced with a silly girl who messed up a few times, the bar man was being sillier then last time and when we stayed for a few drinks with friends the owners who had been there drinking since we came in were berating some regulars and getting loud, violent and aggressive threatening these old guys. never seen anything like it! how can anyone like that run a place properly!

My partner and I took my mum away for a week to Brixham in April 2013. Lovely little fishing town with great shops/bars & resturants. THEN we found this pub! We had a breakfast on our first visit, which was absolutely lovely and ticked all the boxes for us. On our second visit we had a a dinner each, which was, again, really nice (and big). Then our third visit we had a goergous sunday roast before heading home. The gravy was lovely and thick, the veg was cooked perfectly and there was a big pile of roasties and a yorskshire too and lots of meat. I dearly wish I didnt live so far away from this pub id be in there alot! The staff were really friendly, our waitress was a lovely bubbly young girl too. And they do great brandy coffees! Try it!! :o)

Can't comment on food as we just had a drink here, but menu looked good. Yes the carpet has seen better days but the beer was well kept, the welcome couldn't have been more friendly and the locals were friendly and chatty. Dogs welcome, log fire, great pub.

Like to Brixton last night. We look through the window of the pub and was drawn to it because it I looked cosy and bright. Roaring log fire and excellent real ales. Everyone made us feel very welcome will certainly be going back for another couple of pints.
