I can not understand why the Blue Anchor is never mentioned for eating. I have visited Brixham quite a few times over the past three or four years and we have, depending on the length of stay eaten once, twice or more at the Blue Anchor.
It serves very good pub grub, especially the steak & kidney pie. I am allergic to fish and it can be tricky to find something to eat in Brixham apart from steak but the Blue Anchor always has a very good selection. Be warned however that it is not pompous fine dining , the portions are large, you do not need to dress up, locals use the bar and you can take your dog nto the restaurant - fantastic. The beer is good aswell!
