“Lovely Valentines”
Reviewed 7 January 2012

We spent a really lovely night at Berry Head for Valentines 2011. Rate was excellent and included a wonderful four course meal. Breakfast was great too. We had a nice room, nothing plush but totally fine. We had spectacular views from the patio of our sea facing room. The hotel is in a beautiful setting and just a short walk from the most picturesque town you will ever see. There is also a nice cliff top walk. Can definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view room with balcony.

We stayed between Christmas and New Year. The hotel, staff and food were all excellent. The hotel is in a wonderful location itself with the views over Torbay suberb, both daytime and evening. It's always an issue of things to do on 'bad' days at this time of year but with Plymouth, Torquay and Dartmouth nearby we were able to make plans for all eventualities. Two minutes from the hotel entrance you're on the walk up to scenic Berry Head with its forts and lighthouse. The only slight downside for our party was the complete lack of internet access in both rooms, despite being given the password. We will stay at the hotel again but we will ask for an assurance that this has been sorted.

Room Tip: Pay a little more and have a balcony room! The quality of our room was excellent and we also had th...

I cannot thank the team at the Berry Head enougfh for the wonderful food and ambience that they creatred in the Library room for my Aunty's 70th birthday celebration. It was a fabulous day and they made it all so easy. All the guests whostayed over in the hotel liked their accomodation too, and the wonderful breakfasts! All of them have said they will be coming back to stay at the Berry Head - thanks so much to Eddie andf the team.

Room Tip: You can get special deals if you make a group booking or hold a function there

We used the hotel as a base for walking the south coast path. Staff friendly and welcoming, and owner greeted everyone personally on eve of New Year function. Food generous and well presented. Did not use pool. Lots of dog owners staying during the three days we were there.
Wifi in rooms but a little slow.

Room Tip: Ask for sea-view, worth the additional charge

The hotel is located in a wonderful position with views right across Torbay. The staff are very friendly and the food (4 course evening meal and breakfast) were very good. However our room was very dated and small and the shower was terrible, just a trickle of water which dripped out of one side of the shower head. Also my husband wanted a bath but ended up having to fill it via the shower attachment as the bath taps were broken. The 'hot tub' was cold and the changing rooms at the small pool needed a good clean. Overall this could be an excellent hotel but it really needs updating!

Room Tip: make sure you book a sea view room

We had our Wedding Ceremony and Reception at The Berry Head Hotel on 28 August 2012. We had visited the Berry Head on several occasions before and even got engaged there, although we live 4 hours away, the idyllic setting and amazing views topped with the great food and service we had received on previous visits helped us decide to have our big day at the Berry Head. The quality, service and presentation of the Wedding Breakfast is excellent. For example the staff served over a hundred medium rare Steak Rossini’s with an mass of professional waiting staff in what seemed like only minutes, all steaks were cooked to perfection. The professionalism of the staff and class of the whole 5 course meal cannot be overstated for a large function. They also offer some very good real ales which is something that many larger hotels don’t even entertain. The Wedding planning was carefully co-ordinated by the proprietors and they were very helpful from initial planning throughout, they were there on the day to ensure everything and everyone was seamlessly co-ordinated effectively and efficiently. The whole day from the Civil Service, Wedding Breakfast, Evening Hog Roast, Disco and Firework Display at the end was fantastic, a day that won’t be memorable just for us but a memorable experience for all our guests who travelled down to join us. We would recommend the Berry Head to anyone who wants their special day to be that bit extra special. The Berry Head Hotel holds a special place in our hearts and we will be there for every Anniversary to come! We would like to say a very big thank you to Sarah Bence and her Family for making us feel very welcome, nothing was to much trouble and their team of staff were fantastic!!! We will never forget our day with you!

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view room, you will not be disapointed, views are breath taking.

i thought that my wife and i needed an autumn break, and so we booked into the berry head at brixham devon, this is not a cheap hotel, and when booking an all inclusive is quite expensive, the views are quite spectacular from the patio of the hotel and also the sea facing rooms,
the rooms themselves are in need of a bit of attention, and they are also a bit on the small side, the staff are all smart and helpful, but the big one for me was that when i had a drink in the bar or a bar meal i had to share the bar with a load of dogs, all out for a walk with there owners
sorry i do not like sharing a food or drink venue with dogs, they should be kept outside
