You will be surprised at the history of this area when you visit the Brixham Battery Heritage Centre. There are many artifacts from the past to see inside and out, coupled with a first class lecturer a retired Captain Robbie, he will ensure you have a worthwhile visit as we did so much history and information we look forward to our return here as there really is so much to learn about how this area which helped defend England from invasion in the war.

The battery is well sign-posted from the town centre, just follow the signs, it is very interesting, with the emphasis on Brixham's participation in the second world war, entry is free but they do ask for a small donation if possible, the staff are very knowledgeable and if you are lucky you may meet the Winston Churchill lookalike. next to the museum are the battery gardens with world two defences and there are two small beaches nearby and a little beach side café open in the summer time. well worth a visit

Stumbled across this while out walking and it is a superb little museum, with other associated sites around and about the cliffside grounds. The volunteers who man the centre were very knowledgeable and the small hut is packed to the brim with artefacts. There are also field guns and othe rites outsider, and wartime battlements in the cliffside, some of the best remaining in the whole country. Walk in from Brixham and enjoy the views along the way,or there is a car park nearby. Make sure you leave a donation at the end of your visit to keep this voluntary attraction going as it really is a gem. Thankyou gents!
