“A great stay - wonderful food”
Reviewed 10 March 2014

We stayed using the Travelzoo voucher offer. The hotel staff were all friendly and helpful, everything was lovley and very clean. The dinner was amazing, local fish cooked to perfection and great service. It was an excellent stay. Being very picky, our room was hot and airless at night as it overlooked a conservatory area, but we had a great time and would definitely go back one day.

Stayed for just one night last Oct, weather was warm and we enjoyed a lovely walk around the area.
Hotel is quaint and a bit dated but quite charming, we payed extra for a harbour view which was well worth it, staff were very helpful, the restaurant is quite modern and the food very good, breakfast was also good with lots to choose from.

Room Tip: ask for a harbour view

This hotel has grown from the knocking together of a number (6 I think) fishermens cottages. The conversion appears to have been done haphazardly over a long period. The end result is a higgeldy piggledy maze of a hotel with changes in level, odd staircases and multiple routes to get from A to B. Quite charming and full of character. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. Service was available to carry cases up and around the interior. The setting, slightly above Brixham harbour is superb, with great views from the rooms, only go for a harbour view, it is well worth it. Breakfast was good and again the service was first class. We will definately stay here again. Rooms are a little small, but this is not a purpose built hotel and the character more than makes up for it.

Room Tip: Make sure you have a harbour view.

Directly overlooking the harbour, with the added advantage of its own private car park just around the corner. Lovely character hotel, with attractive little cocktail bar and really nice restaurant. We had a fruits de mer seafood platter which was exceptional. The upstairs corriadors were a bit higgledy piggledy but all adds to the character of the building.Staff very friendly. Can't wait to go back again. YOU MUST HAVE A HARBOUR VIEW ROOM.

We booked last minute and were given a good choice of rooms. The room was nice with a comfy bed and good facilities. The decor was a little outdated but that was the only downside. Breakfast was really tasty and the staff were all friendly and welcoming! Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed for one night through Travelzoo and it was excellent value for a sea view room, excellent evening meal and sumptuous breakfast. The restaurant room is beautiful while the only criticism was that the bedroom was a little tired and could benefit from an upgrade, but it was still OK with all we needed. All of the staff were just brilliant, very attentive and helpful. The hotel was a great base for walks and we even saw dolphin and seals which was a great unexpected surprise.
Need to return as this was an excellent reasonably price break. The hotel itself is a quirky mix from six old fisherman's cottages and full of character. There is a free hotel car park a short walk away.

Room Tip: Go for a sea view

A short stay in stormy Brixham made perfect by the attentive friendly staff at this cosy hotel with great views over the quay. After a warm welcome we were led up to our extremely comfortable and homely sea view room, having parked up in the large private car park.

The evening meal was served by exceptionally friendly and cheerful staff and the food was of the very highest quality, beautifully cooked and presented. A gratis glass of bubbly with the TravelZoo option went down very nicely thank you, as did the out of season low price tag but high quality experience. The breakfast was every bit as good as the previous night's meal and the following two meals were of the very highest standard possible.

We were so impressed with everything and really could not find fault at all. We WILL be coming back.

Room Tip: Go for the sea view - a little more money but really worth it to be able to watch the quay and it...
