“We had a stellar holiday in this delightful, perfectly appointed, historical home from home!”
Reviewed 26 October 2016 for a stay in October 2016

This warm, cosily decorated apartment is located in the heart of Brixham, overlooking the harbour itself. There are stunning views from the windows and the local area boasts many lovely walks with fabulous seascapes all around. The interesting display of pictures and the history of the cottage, located in the dining room, is a great backdrop to the story of Brixham and its trawlers. The town itself offers a wide range of eateries and pubs, with fish and chips by the dockside being a favoured option. However, the kitchen in the apartment was so well equipped we could cook delicious meals at home. These were then comfortably enjoyed whilst looking over the boats bobbing in the harbour- dreamy! Rachel was so helpful and informative, she was the perfect owner. My only caution is a general one, Brixham has lots of steps to negotiate but the views are worth it!

“Everything you could want”
Reviewed 9 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We stayed here last year as a couple and liked it so much we came back again with the grand daughters (aged 5 and 2). It's a perfect place to stay: the accommodation is equipped with everything you could possibly want and the layout is perfect. The living space is generous and the bed rooms are a good size. The location is central, but quiet and close to the harbour (for all that crabbing). We loved the fudge and biscuits which Rachel left for us, but the children were even more delighted with their personal bags of sweets!

“Short, but very special, visit”
Reviewed 24 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

My boyfriend and I spend 3 wonderful nights at Seldom Seen the weekend before Easter. We had driven for 5 hours and when we arrived it was lovely to walk into such an immaculate, spacious and comfortable apartment.
We met with the owner at BonBon sweet shop (AMAZING fudge by the way) and she walked us round to the flat, pointing out nice pubs and restaurants on route.
The weekend that we stayed was unusually cold - November chill in March for the most part. But the walls to the apartment are so thick that the cold did not penetrate. The electric fire also pumped out a lot of heat which warmed the lounge quickly and made the place very cosy.
The fudge, biscuits and pint of milk were welcome after a long journey and the sofa’s were comfy - perfect to sit on and watch a film!
The apartment was immaculate, the bed was so comfortable that neither of us remember falling asleep (nor did either of us wake in the night as we normally would), there was plenty of hanging and drawer space, and the bathrooms were lovely.
The towels were soft and large, not cheap like you find in some holiday lets, and the shower was hot and powerful.
My boyfriend and I commented that it was equipped like someone had lived there and thought of everything one could need. The kitchen literally had everything. I had bought washing power and fabric conditioner with me but we needn’t have as it was all there. Having a dishwasher and a washing machine was a massive plus.
The pubs and restaurants in the town were perfect, just what you would expect from a small Devon fishing community. The only disappointment was that the amazing looking cocktail and tea bar - Libertys - had not yet opened for business.
We loved every minute of our stay. We wished we had book a week in the gorgeous ‘Soldom Seen’ and we plan to return very soon to experience Brixham in a different season. Four days was not enough.

“Great place, well worth our second visit”
Reviewed 28 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Seldom Seen is a fantastic place with every thing that you need to make your holiday enjoyable, a home from home. We enjoyed our stay so much last year that we came back. We have stayed in lots of holiday lets but this is the first one that we have returned to and will again in the future. Rachel and Mark make you feel welcome from the start. There's a welcome pack including a bottle of wine which is a lovely touch. Although there is no parking at the apartment there is a parking permit provided that gives free parking anywhere within the Torbay area which is very useful and the car park is only a five minute walk away. Rachel and Mark's shop, Bon Bon, is also worth a visit for the great ice cream and fantastic choice of fudge. We look forward to our next visit.

“Home from home”
Reviewed 13 July 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Stayed at Seldom Seen over the Easter holidays at a very reasonable price for the kids holidays.
The apartment is brilliantly situated in the harbour centre with breathtaking views.
It is furnished to a very high standard with many extras supplied that you don't always get elsewhere, e.g. Soap in all toilets, washing tablets, tea, coffee etc.
Best of all children and dogs welcome !
No hesitation in recommending to family & friends.

“Ideal for fresh fish market”

We stayed here for a week in June. The apartment was ideal and comfortable. We were close to the fish market which was handy for the fresh catch of the day or the restaurant/takeaway if we didn't fancy cooking it. Despite the incline and the steps the rental was only 5 mins walk from the local shops and attractions. The car parking permit was a godsend as it allowed us to park in any Torbay council car park for free. Rachel(the owner) was very helpful on our arrival showing us all the towns amenities although after a 6 hr drive not sure how much sunk in. All the locals were very friendly, the fudge and icecream were yummy and the fresh fish was the best. A great stay.
