Just spent a wonderful break here. Great care has been taken with this unusual reverse-level barn conversion to make the most of an old apple store, creating a relaxing contemporary space and equipping it for your every need. Everything is spotless. The setting is secluded and idyllic, in the owners' beautiful garden, complete with a small stream, an ideal romantic getaway. The Barn is close to the medieval centre of Brixham so there's a local shop close at hand, and quaint cottages, some of them thatched. The harbour is a 20 minute strol gently downhill.
There are plenty of walks in the area, whether along Devon lanes or the South West coast path, which is spectacular in these parts. Within a short drive there are interesting little towns, beautiful National trust properties and a variety of beaches. All in all I've had a great time, and hope you do too.
We had a lovely stay in this beautifully converted barn. So many lovely touches added by the owners to make your stay comfortable and memorable. Delicious homemade lemon drizzle cake is left for you along with organic milk so you can enjoy a brew and a slice of cake on arrival. The property is located a short walk outside Brixham and the town is an ideal centre from which you can make the most that South Devon has to offer. A great place to stay, highly recommended.
What a wonderful find! This Barn is creative in its architectural design and thoughtfully built. The deco is of extremely high standard and a credit to Ian and Pat the owners. Spotlessly clean and tidy with milk and gorgeous lemon drizzle cake in the fridge on arrival (thanks Pat!) Peaceful surroundings on the owners' grounds, however, you'd never know that they were there. A nice walk into the main town of Brixham took us around 20mins and we ate at a couple of places one being Simply Fish which we would highly recommend. The boat to Tourquay was a steal at £2 per person return and great if you've got kids. Paignton is another lovely place suitable for children and would also recommend the zoo.
However, the Barn itself, is accommodating enough to not want to leave and instead enjoy the tranquility and comfortable surroundings.
Thank you Ian and Pat again, we thoroughly enjoyed out stay and hope to see you in the future. On our own!!
