This is an absolutely delightful apartment right in the centre of Ashburton owned by a charming couple. The other reviewers have summarised it perfectly - very tastefully and comfortably furnished and clean - so I will suggest what is also available within yards of the front door:
1. Fish Deli sells freshly caught sustainable fish, which they will fillet while you wait, they have a wide range of other delicacies including numerous olives.
2. Ashburton Delicatessen providing local Devon and West Country cheeses
3. Dartmoor Butchers where their meat is sourced within a few miles
4. A traditional greengrocers selling a range of local produce.
5. Wine Gifts, an independent off-license
6. Ashburton Artisan Bakery - wonderful home baked bread - But get there early as it sells out quickly
6. Francolin for lovely tea and cakes. Do try their tasty homemade soup as well
7. Moorish for wonderful North African food.
All this within a few yards. Leave your Tesco's shopping at home and enjoy the comfort of this apartment together with all the local produce. Happy Holiday :)

We loved our stay in Ashton House. The apartment is well-equipped, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The living space is good for a couple or maximum a couple and an older child. It's right in the heart of town yet quiet, and because the kitchen facilities are so good, it's not a problem to purchase supplies from the great local supermarkets and delis and make meals at home. Theresa and Mike are welcoming hosts without being intrusive. We would recommend Ashton House over other self-catering options and B&Bs.

1 review Ashburton is a lovely village full of independent shops, in a lovely location on the edge of the Moors with walks from your doorstep. Several lovely eating places within walking distance, and a top class Cookery School on the edge of the Village which hopefully the next time we come to stay I will book a course! The Apartment is really well equipped with beautiful Antiques and lovely cotton Bedlinen. It is a lovely place to stay with lovely places to visit in Devon and Cornwall.

A beautiful 2 bedroom apartment/town house in the fabulous town of Ashburton. Very tastefully appointed providing a lovely, relaxing retreat. Whilst classically aesthetic, this apartment has all the mod cons you need to make your break as restful as possible. Lovely comfortable beds and pillows for a lovely night's sleep. The owners added finishing touches and the sight of home-made scones beautifully laid out on a tea tray was most welcome indeed,

A great apartment located in the centre of Ashburton. The apartment is above an antique shop, both owned by Mike and Teresa, who are incredibly welcoming and helpful.
The apartment is light and spacious (over two floors) furnished with beautiful antique furniture - as well as all the mod-cons, including wifi. Its kitchen has all the equipment you would need to self-cater, but there are also plenty of cafes, restaurants and pubs in Ashburton if you prefer to eat out. Bedrooms are very comfortable, and a washing machine and dryer are also available.
Ashburton is a busy but relaxed town with good amenities - small supermarkets, post office, chemist, banks, lots of antique (and other interesting) shops; it is close to the moors, larger towns/cities and the coast, as well as the Ashburton Cookery School.
Highly recommended!
