What can I say, this hotel and staff are amazing. We held our wedding here last week and I haven't got a bad word to say. From the very first meeting with diane and trevor the owners to the day of our wedding we were treated with the upmost respect. All the staff are so friendly and done everything in there power to make our day special. The rooms are stunning, comfy beds brilliant showers and facility's. The fold from the carvery to our wedding breakfast was unbelievable. Everybody worked so hard all weekend. I would reccomend to anyone to hold there wedding here it was the most amazing day we have ever had and made even more lovely by the amazing organisation from diane and by the smiley helpful staff. If you arent looking for a wedding venue it is an amazing place to sit relax and have a meal and drink mayb even stay the night in a beautiful setting. I will definitely be going back :-)

The best carvery around! You get what you pay for & the food here is WELL worth the money. I do not imply it is expensive, just value for your buck! Staff are always efficient & very friendly. Cannot fault it, & we visit quite regularly.

We have just got back from a 3 night stay at this hotel and it was fantastic, there is nothing negative to say about it, when we arrived we were met by a friendly receptionist who showed us to our upgraded room with a four poster bed, a very comfortable bed, the bathroom was excellent and large with a deep roll top bath, everything was clean, fresh large towels every day. The restaurant was lovely and food was freshly made to order and piping hot, all staff were friendly. We will use again.

We came to the Dartmoor lodge hoping for a meal and to book a room within the next couple of weeks. Coming to the reception area the receptionist was on the phone to what sounded like another employee about the computer system, fair enough..but having stood waiting in front of her for nearly 10 mins without being acknowledged in any way then hearing her discuss the weather...we walked out and ended up going to the Dart bridge Inn over the bridge. Excellent meal with great customer services! Well recommended!

Just had a Carvery which was absolutely delicious, have been for the same many times and it never disappoints. Plenty of variety of meats and veg. Chef and staff very friendly, good atmosphere, and very busy, which is a good sign,

This was not a good experience at all. To be specific, the chicken and sweetcorn soup was over seasoned and lacked egg white. Two of the starters where fish (prawns and calamari) and were not well presented. The three others starters were unintentionally cold.

The main courses are best described as a selection of 'stews'. Beef and oyster sauce (beef stew), pork and vegetables (pork stew) and sweet and sour chicken (chicken stew). The spare ribs looked OK although I didn't sample them. The sour cabbage was not good and neither was the rice.

The sweet course consisted of a pineapple fritter which was fine and a portion of junket which was far too heavily laced with almond essence! This was served with tinned mandarins.

The service was average only. It is strongly suggested that if the staff are incapable of producing and serving authentic Chinese cuisine then try something else.
