“Superb campsite and attractions for kids”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

Just back from a three night break at the River Dart Country Park Campsite. We managed to go outside of the school holidays as the school had Thursday and Friday as inset days. We went in our VW T5 campervan with two other families in a caravan and a tent (6 adults, 6 kids) - each allocated pitch was one of the biggest I've been on. The place was empty on the Thursday and Friday (June) and we had a LOT of space to ourselves and made use of the Country Park's (inclusive) water features. On the Saturday (as predicted) the site was pretty full, but the paid for attractions were still empty! the Dare Devil high rope walks are amazing and well worth a go for the extra £14. The bar is good with an outside area and the food is good if you can't stand another BBQ at your tent.

Washing and toilet facilities were great with the only issue being that the constantly cut grass by the tractor is not collected and thus makes it way into the toilets. There is a mop provided. People with walking problems will need to ask to be sited near a block as I needed to use a bike each time I needed to go!

It's not the cheapest campsite if you are just there to camp, but it's a great day out for all the family (in good weather) and with all the attractions available it becomes great value for a family. Will go again.

“Excellent for a family holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2014

Excellent for a family holiday, good clean facilities, lots to do for children of all ages. Safe for you to let your children time on their own (15 yr olds). Bike rides, high ropes. Even though the weather wasn't brilliant they still had a brilliant time. We even managed to have a fairly relaxing break as well.

“One of the best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2014

We have just got back from here after camping for 4 nights in a trailer tent, on entering the park we knew we were in for a great time, the place is in a beautiful setting with loads to do for free and also there is a option to pay for some other things. The pitches are a great size and nicely spaced apart. There are lots of walks and so much for the kids to do, you will need to have lots of energy to keep up! The pirate ship is great fun, but remember to take your wetsuits and water guns!!!.. get ready to walk the plank. My husband did the High ropes which was £14 which I feel was a great price as if you do Go Ape its a good £30 for not much difference. They seem to cater for large groups well on the campsite as there seemed to be quite a few there. The bar/restaurant on site is a great place and the food is lovely, they do a deal most nights and live music after 9pm. (this may of just been for half term) One night we had a Pizza buffet for £10 for adults eat as much as you can and children £4.95 and then we had the Carvery which was £8.95 for adults and £4.95 for children this also was delicious. The only down fall was even thou the shower and toilet blocks were clean the showers were way to hot! It actually took my breath away! on a few days, and there is no way on turn the temp down, which is tricky when trying to shower the kids as it would burn them. Otherwise everything was simply amazing and we will be going back next year :) thank you for a great time.

“Rip off for day visitors”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 May 2014

Beautiful place but so is plymbridge for free!! 8 pound odd each to get in and for what? Some pretty scenery, a little river and tyre swings, how greedy to charge that much for so little. Anything worth doing you have to pay extra for. cost me 24 pounds odd for a 2 hour visit. Will never come here again purely because of the entrance cost, rather pay a few quid extra and go woodlands!!
