What a thoroughly enjoyable time seeing in the New Year. Really good fun, food and atmosphere. Thanks to Kes, Kieren and team. Special thanks to Lily for getting the old bones to feel young again – at least for the evening! But as previously mentioned, please will the owners spruce up the place. Look forward to next NY’s evening in twelve months. Jim and Sue

This is near to us and we often go here for a meal but we decided to stay over for New Year as there was an event on. The rooms are fine and very clean and one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in.
The staff here are very friendly and Kes the Manager has a great team working for him.
This is part of the Old English Inns range and I have stayed I their places before. I would certainly recommend a stay. It is very close to Totnes and Buckfasleigh so people wanting somewhere handy for these places and the A38 to Plymouth or Exeter.

Thank you Kes, Kieren and all the staff at Dartbridge for a superb xmas holiday. As we stayed here last year and had such an enjoyable stay, we obviously returned and we could not have chosen anywhere better. ALL the staff were superb and the food was the best ever. We stayed from Monday 23rd to Saturday 28th and did not have one bad meal. Xmas Day lunch was served without a hitch and everything was like clockwork but with the personal touch. We have already booked to come back in March, so that says it all.
Now to Old English Inns, PLEASE give this lovely place the refurbishment that it so deserves, you have the management and staff, the second to none food, but a tired building and tired bedrooms which must be so hard for the housekeeping staff to keep it to the standard that they do.
Again, so many thanks to K, K and ALL staff, Love J and P. xx

Room Tip: Room 6 is lovely and spacious and at the front of the building, where the traffic does not give any...

Nice friendly staff, superb breakfast, lovely ambiance. We had one evening meal which was quite good, but they were clearly short-staffed and we had to wait quite a while to be served two courses.
Our room was nice, but the noise from the adjacent road was a minor irritant, though it's difficult to see what they could do about this; might be worth asking for a room at the rear of the hotel.
Bathroom was ok but a bizarre arrangement with the shower tucked under the eaves made it almost impossible for anyone near average height to stand underneath it.
Our impressions of the place improved by the time we had our second breakfast, and we would recommend it, though with one or two minor reservations.

Many thanks for your review, Rm 6 does have a shower attached to teh wall where it was just a bath so this will be looked at and returned back to a bath. Anyone is more than welcome to ask for a quiet room towards th eback of the hotel as we are on a main road and if your not used to road noise this can be annoying as mentioned.

I will share this feedback with my team and we look forwrad to seeing you soon

We decided to meet for a meal just before Christmas to see family and exchange presents.
I have to say hugely disappointed. It floor didn't look like it had been cleaned for days and our table was stuck in the middle of the room.
The food was very poor and only had two vegetables and a sloop of smash.
We won't be returning and would certainly not recommend.

I booked a room for just one night as we travelled from Plymouth back up to London and we just wanted somewhere to have a meal, a hot shower and a comfortable bed for the night. The Inn is charming and the welcome we received was warm and enthusiastic.

Our room was comfortable enough although the furnishings were somewhat tired and outdated. The bed was good with lovely fresh linen. The tea and coffee making facilities were good and much appreciated. The bathroom too was very outdated and much in need of a makeover. The shower taps had obviously been replaced recently and to solve the problem of leaking over the side of the bath, a smear of silicon had been put on the bath which looked very amateurish. The paint on the door was very chipped and there was plaster coming off the walls in places. Also the bathscreen and shower curtain combo was not very pleasant. Nothing dreadful but it did spoil the room.

Our evening meal was okay, typical pub food. It is always a disappointment to me when restaurants insist on using frozen chips when they are obviously going to be serving a fair few portions, surely they could be made fresh. I wouldn't use frozen chips at home so I would prefer not to pay to eat them!!!! The waiting staff were lovely. There was a bit of a mix up over our starters and we were offered free puddings as compensation - we didn't want pudding but it was good to have been offered.

The bar had a lovely atmosphere with a log fire and Christmas decorations. My husband really enjoyed his cold Guinness which was a real treat for him as he could enjoy a couple of pint before we retired to bed.

The breakfast was very good, a great selection of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, juice, etc followed by a good choice of cooked meals. I had two poached eggs which were done to perfection and properly too! We did not want the full English but a sneaky glance at other breakfasters plates showed that the fry up option would probably not disappoint.

I have to say that we enjoyed our night at the Dartbridge Inn and we were able to take advantage of a special rate of £60 for the bed and breakfast. However, if we had been paying the full price, which I believe was about £100 for the night, I would not have been impressed by the quality of the room. At the lower rate , we would definitely use this hotel again.

Having a pet dog, we needed an hotel that allowed us to take our dog with us. Upon arrival, we were greeted very pleasantly at the bar and quickly allocated our room. Parking was so simple and near to our room. No stairs to negotiate with bulky bags was a big plus too.
Having the dog, we had to use the bar area to eat, which was more than acceptable. Food, wines and beers were very good and the staff very helpful and welcoming. As the bridge was being repaired and partly closed, we asked for details of nearby walks and the staff could not have been more willing to assist us with details. We stayed 3 nights, eating in the hotel, with a good choice of menu and the food being excellent. We had a great time and would return willingly at a later date. If one was being picky, the hotel and grounds are looking a little tired and would benefit with a revamp, but that in no way diminished our very pleasant visit.
