we had a superior double and it as indeed very superior. at the front of the hotel on a quiet road overlooking the chuchyard. really nicely decorated room.

the staff were very friendly and helpful. food was excellent. wifi was free.

chagford is one of the nicest towns around the moor and i'd massively recommend the Globe.

i had a look at the 3 Crowns (almost next door) but judging from the bar this has been renovated in what to me looks like a very unsympathetic way for what was once a very atmospheric Dartmoor inn. i'm glad we picked the Globe.

one "feature" is that the chuch clock chimes every hour throughout the night, but we found that odly relaxing. the owls are pretty vocal too!

All up this is the best "pub" style bnb ive stayed at in the UK.

We stayed two nights in a large double-bedded room. The room was very comfortable, although it overheated in the afternoon. We ate there the first night and the food was excellent. Breakfast was also good (although the toast was a bit dry). The staff were very welcoming and helpful, and contributed to our sense of holiday well-being. There's no private parking, but the public car park was only 100 metres away.

Just come back from one night at the Globe. Were staying for two, but my husband was taken ill, no flexiblity on the cost, had to pay, didnt want to be sued. We booked a superior room but found it didn't have a shower so asked to be moved. The towels were wet and had to be changed. The original superior room had a king size bed but we only had a double. The bed was the hardest I have ever slept in, it was like rock. It didn't help that the church bells across the road chimed on the hour every hour. I understand this isn't the Globes fault but if you want a quiet night dont go to the Globe! On the plus side the breakfast and dinner was lovely, couldn't fault it.

We are sorry that your stay was not to your expectation as every effort was made meet your requirements. You did not request a shower when booking and upon arrival we moved you to a room with shower. Regarding the bed, this is a of course a personal choice, we use orthopeaditic quality matresses of medium firmness.

We hope that your husband is now feeling better after his cold.

Kind regards
Graham and Mary owners.

We were given a warm welcome by Nick and shown to our comfortable and spacious room on the first floor. The room had a warm cosy feel and was positioned so that we did not even hear the church bells that have featured in a number of other reviews.

We ate in on each night of our six-night stay and worked our way through a diverse and interesting dinner menu. We enjoyed every meal, so the decision to eat in each night was one we did not regret.

What really made our stay special, however, was the hospitality shown us by Mary and Graham and their staff who were very friendly and considerate of our comfort. If warmth of hospitality is important to you, The Globe Inn could not be more highly recommended.

With a number of Pubs doing B&B in Chagford, competition must surely be fierce. We looked at them all and decided on the Globe Inn, we were not disappointed. The look and feel of the place on arrival was great. The owner welcomed us and made time to introduce herself even though they were extremely busy at the time. The room Magnolia could not be faulted, facing out to the the church the view was very quaint. Everything about the room was top notch from the decor to the trimmings and towels etc. One criticism was the size of the bed which should have been larger for this level of accommodation. We sat down in the bar for our meal as they had entertainment two of the nights we were there with a nice atmosphere but the seating could have been more comfortable. We only used the restaurant for breakfast but it was was very tastefully done. Drinks were very reasonably priced and the bar staff were very attentive, even bringing your drinks to the table. The food was very high quality with an interesting choice of specials. Presentation of food was good and served on hot plates after a reasonable wait. Parking was cheap at the nearby health centre and was free overnight until 10am. Breakfast whilst OK could have been larger and more imaginative but was freshly cooked. The village as a great atmoshere and we most certainly would stay at the Globe again

We ate here while staying locally on the Thursday evening before Easter. Originally booked into the restaurant we changed our minds and ate in the bar deciding to take part in the pub quiz. It was a super evening. The food was very well cooked and presented with large portions. The staff friendly and attentive. There was quite a variety on the menu with something to suit all pockets. We really enjoyed the quiz and friendly atmosphere. Plus we didn't disgrace ourselves always a bonus! We will definitely return and may try the accommodation next time.

We had another lovely weekend a couple of weeks ago. Stayed in the lovely big room at the top again. Great food and great beer. Very friendly and the opposite to a chain of similar inns, ie feels like a proper unique inn.

Room Tip: Big Room on top floor.
