At the heart of the hotel, the elegant and intimate two Michelin-starred restaurant provides a sophisticated backdrop to Executive Chef, Michael Wignall's decadent tasting and à la carte menus. One of the most respected chefs in the UK, Michael Wignall has won Michelin stars in every kitchen he has headed since being awarded his first star in 1993. Michael is famed for his respect for food and an ever evolving style which creates unique dishes full of flavour and underpinned by a contemporary, less formal approach to fine cuisine. Describing his food as ‘modern, technical and meaningful’, each element features to add flavour or texture, enticing diners to experience new combinations and ingredients complemented by vegetables and herbs picked from Gidleigh Park’s own kitchen garden. Matching the high standards in the kitchen, Gidleigh Park’s internationally renowned wine cellar accommodates over 1,300 bins and 13,000 bottles from around the world. Home to a selection of European, New World and Bio Dynamic wines, the cellar offers one of the most impressive wine lists in the British Isles. “Exquisite food and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 August 2014

Gidleigh Park is a wonderful place and I would have no hesitation in recommending it highly.
Wonderful food is served by professional and attentive staff. The buildings and surrounding grounds are beautiful and make for a really relaxing experience. The menu is imaginative with great attention placed on quality and perfect presentation. A really wonderful selection of wine is vial able too with a helpful and knowledgeable sommelier to advise. Gidleigh gets everything right and is well worth a visit.

“Superb as always”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 August 2014

We have been fortunate enough to dine here a few times recently and it is our absolute favourite for its mix of wonderful food, comfortable, relaxed surroundings and excellent, highly attentive but at the same time, un-intrusive, staff. We had a long, indulgent Sunday lunch and stayed the night too - fabulous.

“A very tasty pleasant experience.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

We went for our anniversary lunch. We chose the signature menu as it was a special occasion.
The food was amazing so many beautiful flavours and combinations. A Taste explosion.
Service was excellent, very attentive, helpful and friendly.
Beautiful setting and we were lucky with the weather to be able to sit outside for coffee and petit fours.
My only criticism was that the portions were a bit too small, I would have loved to have had the portions a bit bigger especially the foie gras and the beef fillet. Especially for the price we paid.
All in all a very pleasant and tasty experience.

“Perfection”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 August 2014

You soon learn why Gidleigh Park is one of the top restaurants in the UK and why it has earns its two Michelin stars. Everything is done perfectly. That is once you have found the place. It's tucked away in a corner of Dartmoor and sign posting could be better.

Once we arrived for our lunch we were shown to the terrace for drinks. It has all the feel of being in a stately home. There we were served delicious appetisers including a seafood cappuccino. We then ate in the sumptuous dining room. A tuna tartare to start, then duck risotto and a goats cheese parfait as proper starters. We both had sublime pork for mains ( the potatoes were amazing). Then we had deserts of a strawberry mixture and a lemon tart and lemon sorbet.

Service throughout was perfect and understated.

A memorable meal and we shall return!
