Brilliant B & B of a very high standard. Patrick and Sharon make you feel immediately welcome and at home. Nothing is too much trouble and they take a real interest in each of their quests. By prior arrangement evening meals are also available and they are cooked to perfection with fresh produce from the garden, can't get more local than that! All on all an ideal retreat for a few days away from it all. I would not hesitate to recommend a visit, you definitely won't be disappointed!

Eastwrey Barton is a B&B of very high standard. The old farmhouse is very well kept and the interior is decorated in very good taste. The rooms are large and well equipped, and with a nice view of the valley.

The common areas are also very nice, the sitting room with comfortable furniture and large windows is a good place to rest and read.

The hosts were very helpful in giving advice on walks in Dartmoor, and we were provided with all the guides and maps we needed.

The breakfast is in a class of its own. I had yoghurt with rhubarb and berries from the garden, a full English breakfast and then toast with some of the homemade jams that where provided. Good coffee and fresh juices were provided, too.

The nearby village of Lustleigh is well worth a visit, and has a pub with good food.

I doubt that you could find a better B&B to stay in.

Stayed here on the weekend for a wedding nearby. Lovely property in a great location (a few miles north of Bovey) and close to all the wonders of Dartmoor. Friendly owners, spotlessly clean, yummy breakfast. Highly recommended.

This is a guest house in the best sense of the phrase, somewhere where you feel like a guest, not just another customer. Everything is done to make you feel welcome down to the last detail. The rooms are large and elegantly furnished, the beds are supremely comfortable, the linens are top notch, decent tea and coffee in the room and nothing seems to be too much trouble for your hosts.
The breakfasts are excellent, a choice of cereals, home made fruit compotes with yoghurt, the "full Devon" breakfast cooked to perfection, add to that good coffee, juices and toast and you're set up for the day.
The location in the picturesque Wray Valley in the Dartmoor National Park is ideal as a base for touring and walking and the towns of Exeter and Plymouth are only a short drive away. A delightful place to spend a few days.

Eastwrey Barton is advertised as a Country House Bed and Breakfast and, whilst I can't argue with the description, I found it much more than a B&B.

The owners are the ideal hosts. The bedrooms are modern and very comfortable yet also have character. As for the food, the evening meal was superb and good value. The breakfast is plentiful and better than any hotel I've stayed in recently.

Another plus was a very comfortable lounge in which to socialise (or not if you don't want to) with an excellent wine, beer and spirits choice.

Public areas have free wifi.and therefore you can choose to remain connected. Or you can choose to enjoy your surroundings and relax.

By an extremely happy coincidence we found Eastwrey Barton on the internet. This was our last night in paid accommodation in the UK before heading home - we should have stayed longer because our room was spotless, spacious, and extremely comfortable. The food (much of it locally grown) was better than many restaurants and certainly much better than most pubs.) Obviously both Sharon and Patrick enjoy hosting their guests. And Patrick's advice re Dartmoor was spot on and very helpful. ("Beware the sheep sleeping on the road!", where to go, eat, etc)
Sad we probably will not return, but the 30hr flight from Oz (and the $s) make it unlikely.

Room Tip: Only down side - steps down from the car park, and then steps up to the rooms. Travel light!

I took a week's holiday and went on a road trip catching up with wonderful friends & relatives in Devon & Cornwall. Chosen from the inviting accurate website, this wonderful retreat gave me a totally relaxing last night away. I was very spoilt being the only guest that night. Room 1:spotless throughout; snug bathroom/comfy bath; period decor delightful (throughout house too); welcome hot water bottle. G&T+variety of nibbles by the cozy log burner followed by a DELICIOUS 3 course dinner with wine made my evening (especially as not driving!). Sharon was slaving in the kitchen whilst Patrick looked after me brilliantly. Full English Breakfast + their own grown fruit compote & homemade jams- yummy.I felt safe & happy as a lone woman staying away. Best night's sleep of all the week. Next I want to take my partner there for a romantic weekend.
