Wonderful lunch in the garden with a glass of cold cider. Beetroot soup, mussels Normandy and great desserts. A beautiful spot.

After a 4 hour walk we needed satisfying and 'The Cleave' certainly didn't dissapoint. Good food . Generous portions. Friendly service.(Our dog made welcome inside too!). All round good value for money. Would recommend strongly.
This is the second time at this restaurant. We were a small group however the menu was disappointing and lacked choice. Food was not exciting I am afraid I think more time had been spent on making up great sounding dishes and not enough time making sure people might enjoy the food. If you have the fish stew as it is mostly liquid maybe son bread would be helpful. Another victim of trying to make great pub food into something posh.
Lovely place to go but stick to the drinks.
Fantastic meal at the Cleave today. Usual high standards and a variety of interesting dishes to choose from. This is our fourth visit with friends and we will definitely be back again. Looking forward to kangaroo being back on the menu.
Very impressed - lovely food, huge portions, very friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Would return and would definitely recommend.
