“Wonderful, relaxing walking holiday!”

What a lovely welcoming cottage! We had a difficult journey stuck in the traffic and arrived later than planned. It was therefore such a good feeling to arrive at the beautiful cottage. We felt welcome as the landlords had provided tea, coffee, milk… and wine! What a good way to unwind and start our relaxing stay in Dartmoor.
It felt so homely with the quaintness of the old times but the facilities of modern life (easy access to wi-fi, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier, iron, plenty of hangers, good bathrooms…). The cottage is very clean, the linen smells nice and fresh, the towels provided are extra soft! The décor is typically quaint English cottage with thatched roof, timbered ceilings, lime washed walls and wood burner, even down to the small details of antique ornaments. It’s like travelling back in time.
What a bonus to have the walks already printed for us. It was easy to explore the moors locally. We came across beautiful landscapes and wild life. Magical!
Lustleigh is a quaint hamlet with very friendly villagers. There is a church, a dairy shop with fresh and local products, a pub and a village archive for those interested in the local history. As the cottage is situated at the heart of the village, you can enjoy the bell ringers melodic tunes on Thursday night and Sunday morning. Amazing!
Thanks to Michaela and Brian, the very friendly and accommodating owners, for renovating such an historical building and let us share the experience!

“A real Gem.”
Reviewed 10 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Wonderful location and the property has been renovated to very high standard. Everything you need is there. The villagers are very welcoming, and the Landlord of the local is quite a character. Fantastic walks around the locale, information on which is in the welcome pack. The owners have gone out of their way to make this a very enjoyable experience. I woild definitely recommend this property to anyone. Have a feeling it is going to be a very popular destination and may have to book a return visit well in advance......

“A Little piece of heaven!”
Reviewed 7 March 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Three Pound Cottage exceeded our expectations in every way! We spent two weeks at this beautiful thatched cottage in Lustleigh. We travelled from Urbanna, Virginia and were looking forward to a quiet holiday on Dartmoor. The cottage has been beautifully but sympathetically restored with great attention to detail. As it was the end of February into March it was fairly chilly with some rain but the cottage was wonderfully warm. The ground floor has heated floors and with the efficient heating system and wood burner it was bliss. The kitchen is well equipped and very user friendly. Two bathrooms was a real bonus and the showers .... Especially the rain shower in the main bathroom was fabulous! Extremely comfortable beds with freshly ironed linens and good bedside lighting. We just loved coming "home" after a day on the moors where there is always something different to see. The walks in and around Lustleigh are just lovely... we were so lucky to see the newly born lambs, snowdrops and daffodils just in flower. The Cleave pub is just a few minutes walk from the cottage where we were warmly greeted. The food is good and Sunday lunch an absolute must! We really did not want to leave Three Pound Cottage and thank Michaela and Brian for sharing their little piece of heaven.

“An amazing break, thank you.”

We recently spent a weekend at the cottage and thoroughly enjoyed a relaxed stay in an amazing area.

The cottage has been beautifully renovated to a very high standard and much thought has gone into the process retaining character while being very well appointed.

The village is gorgeous and unspoilt and the walking out from the village is spectacular. We didn't stray far from the local pub, the Cleave, for our meals- good beer, excellent food and a warm welcome from staff and villagers alike.
