“Absolutely Perfect”

My husband and I stayed at Moorland View for the week of our wedding.

The cottage is beautiful and there is absolutely nothing Suzy and her team haven't thought of. Everything about it exceeded expectation and made our wedding all we had dreamt of and more.

We cannot wait to visit again. Absolutely Sublime. It's as simple as that.

Not a stone out of place. The attention to detail was far superior to staying in any kind of hotel. We just loved the fireplace, the kitchen, the bedroom, the view, the garden, the wellies, the pub, i could go on... Well done Suzy

“If Carlsberg did holiday accommodation........”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 July 2013 for a stay in July 2013

From the moment we walked through the door at Moorland View Cottage I knew that we were in for a real treat. This gorgeous cottage offers everything you could possibly need for a self catering holiday...and more, with attention paid to every little detail. I could rhapsodise for ever about all the unexpected and delightful extras that we kept discovering on the first day, but you really should go and discover them yourself...it's much more fun!
The village of North Bovey is 'chocolate box' pretty with a great pub which is a couple of strides away from the door. We were there for the village fair and sheep shearing competition and were welcomed as locals for the day. Further afield there is so much to see and do that you could never be bored. We had wonderful weather during our stay but I found myself almost wishing for a rainy day so that I could curl up on the sofa and enjoy the peace and quiet in the elegant interior of Moorland View Cottage.

“Did not want to leave...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2013 for a stay in June 2013

Normally I am not stuck for words, but this holiday left me so relaxed, it is proving difficult.

It's a completely different pace of life when compared to London. Small village, narrow roads, surrounded by more small villages and incredible scenery. We still had an amazing week despite the weather being hit and miss: from the 360 degree views at Eastern Tor then relaxing at Bovey Castle spa using the free guest passes, the local villages of Moretonhamstead and Chagford are close enough to nip in and out of, and top up the supplies. Best places for food nearby: the Ring of Bells and the White Horse was so good we went twice, to both.

The cottage itself if brilliant. The attention to detail was noticeable throughout, and when the sun disappeared, the (several) bottles of wine and local ales enjoyed by the fire was hardly a bad alternative to chilling in the garden. Spotify and speakers throughout, his and hers mountainbikes, 2 big bedrooms with one of the comfiest beds I've ever slept in and a bathroom with one of the biggest baths I've ever stepped foot in.

In the week we were there we even managed to fit in a couple of day trip excursions to Blackpool Sands, Dartmouth Castle and we capped it all off with what is now officially the best Fish and chips in the country at the Rockfish Grill.

You can tell you've had a good stay, when you're already planning your next visit. I highly recommend this. If you're looking for a break from the city life or just want to relax - you will not be disappointed.

“Perfect Honeymoon Destination”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 July 2013 for a stay in May 2012

When choosing our honeymoon destination my criteria was high, it had to be picture postcard perfect, it had to be romantic, it had to be luxurious, in short it had to be perfect. Moorland View was all of the above and more. Every time I think of the cottage it makes me smile. Every little detail has been taken care of and we can't wait to return again and again.

“English Cosy Luxury at its finest...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 July 2013 for a stay in May 2013

We stayed here for one weekend in May for my Wife's birthday. The place was absolutely fantastic. I whole heartedly agree with some of the other reviews where attention to detail and perfectionist are mentioned. The open fire, brass bath with luxurious toiletries, the sonos music system with Spotify, wonderfully comfortable bed, the kitchen with everything you could need and the great local produce were just some of the highlights. We were lucky with the weather for our weekend stay and within just a few minutes you can be walking in the middle of nowhere. One morning the locals moving the sheep up the street and another we had the sound of horses. Overall it was blissfully quiet and the pub only a 2 minute walk away. Suzy seems to have thought of every possible thing you could need and more.
In short whatever I write here cannot do this wonderful cottage justice. You just have to see for yourself! :)
We will be back as soon as we can!

“Little bit of heaven in Devon...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 June 2013 for a stay in May 2013

Was going to leave quite a detailed review ranting and raving about how great this place is then thought it suffice to say, the place is SIMPLY AMAZING!!! You need to go and experience it for yourself. Think open fire, clotted cream, Devonshire bacon, idyllic garden, fluffy sheets, huge brass bath, lush toiletries, together with all the mod cons you could ever want (incredibly fast wifi!) The owner is clearly a perfectionist because she has thought about absolutely everything (thank you!) We were blessed with glorious sunshine but this place would be beautiful in any weather, we actually thought it would super cosy in the snow. We can't think of a single negative, except that we had to leave. We were so so impressed. We would have stayed longer but sadly the following week had already been booked so we continued our minimoon in a 5 star Relais & Chateaux hotel, which was no where near as gorgeous as Moorlandview cottage. We couldn't help comparing it and wishing we were still there. When we first booked we thought it was more on the pricey side but after staying there and seeing what was included, we knew that not only was worth every penny but actually great value. This is the perfect haven for a chilled honeymoon/romantic break but as it has 2 bedrooms it could also be used for a holiday with friends. We will definitely be back, hopefully on our anniversary.
