Love the way the walk is safe for dogs ,kids and cyclists .
Beware you do cross roads but check maps so you are aware .
Such stunning views and bird song, peaceful area with a viaduct to add to the photos.
Will walk the whole length ,please don't rain!

“Wonderful cycling”
Reviewed 23 May 2014

We cycled the path between Okehampton and Lydford. What a joy! We cycle quite a number of former railway cycle paths (thank you so much, Sustrans and the local authorities) and this is by far the best quality surface of those we have done. The new section is possibly the smoothest surface I have ever cycled - no potholes, no odd camber....

The views are lovely and very varied: viaducts, Dartmoor and the lambs, interesting pub at Sourton, the quarry, the old trains on their way to Okehampton and then the delightful old station tea room at Okehampton itself. The only part on a road is at Lydford - where there is a steep hill which took us to the beautiful National Trust Lydford Gorge with an amazing walk (despite rain) and tea rooms at both ends...

“A great ride”
Reviewed 9 May 2014 via mobile

This bike ride is not all off road unfortunately but the main roads are pretty quiet. Mostly nice and flat so not to strenuous. Very scenic and some terrific bridges you cross on the way.

“Great for walking and cycling for all ages.”
Reviewed 4 May 2014 via mobile

Now that the cycle track has been extended it's even better. It's perfect for the whole family and some of the views are beautiful. There are lots of places to stop for a picnic or it is possible to stop and eat at one of the nearby pubs. The trail is reasonable flat and easy going. It can get busy on Bank holidays and weekends.

Good fairly level walk..watch out for bikes with no bells swooping up behind you. Lovely views over Dartmoor.
