The best cream tea in the world! We really mean that.
A dog friendly, human friendly, idilic setting with fabulous, melt in the mouth scones. What more could you want?

What a find! I stayed at this lovely hotel a couple of nights and one of the highlights of my stay was the restaurant. Chef Luke offers a smallish, well-chosen menu that emphasizes fresh, local produce. Everything I had was delicious and beautifully presented. As an American, I didn't have a clue what John Dory fish was, so decided to try it. I was rewarded with a rather gorgeous plate of beautifully prepared fish and a lovely, healthy mix of garden vegetables. I had fish cakes the other night, and again this simple dish was very nicely presented and very tasty. I had soup starters both nights I ate here and they were absolutely delicious. Worth a stop for a meal or a cream tea if you are in this part of Dartmoor. There's also a bar that's a really relaxed friendly place for a dirink

Over the years we've often driven passed the entrance but finally decided to pop in. What a treat. A warm welcome.. A lovely relaxed lounge with stunning uninterrupted views... and one of the best cream teas I've had (and I'm a pro!) We'll be back

Called in for a bite of light lunch after walking on the moor. Very dog friendly and boot friendly! Good light lunch menu - 3 of us had a ploughmans, welsh rarebit and duck pate (off the starters..).. All served with fresh salad and well presented.. Great views from the windows. We sat in the bar area an the lounge area with sofas, armchairs was full... Definitely on the list of places to eat on the Moor!

A lovely place in a beautiful setting. Very dog friendly which is a big plus for us. I called ahead before we visited as I am a vegan, and wanted to check what wd be available for me to have. They said they have soya milk for hot drinks but didn't have any cake type things for me eat which was a shame as my family were having a cream tea. HOWEVER the lady kindly spoke to the chef, who offered to make something suitable for me. So when we arrived today there were a couple of options for me. I chose the chocolate and apple torte, which came with a raspberry torte. Yum!
