Very out-of-the-way location. Owners were friendly but seemed inexperienced. No connection to Internet which was important to us. Room was very small and the shared bathroom was in disrepair. Breakfast okay.

Lowertownfarm, Owner at Lowertown Farm B&B, responded to this review, 6 August 2014
Very sorry to hear you were disappointed with your stay with us at Lowertown Farm Bed and Breakfast.

Our rural location is normally a plus-point for our guests as we are within Dartmoor National Park - England's largest wilderness, and therefore perfect for experiencing rural life and the open countryside. Sorry if you were given the impression that our farm was in a more urban location.

We have free Wi-Fi throughout the farmhouse and the information regarding this, including the access code would have been in the welcome folder in your bedroom.

The bathroom was redecorated in February 2014 so we're not sure what you mean by disrepair, maybe you could send us an email as we would like to know what you thought was damaged?

We inspect the bathroom everyday whilst cleaning and a few weeks ago we had to replace the toilet roll holder as it had been ripped out of the wall, sadly the next day delivery for a replacement didn't appear, so it was two days before a replacement was found - maybe this was during your stay? In which case, sorry for the inconvenience.

We opened the Bed and Breakfast five years ago and although young, we would consider ourselves experienced, although please feel free to email us with any further suggestions and comments. Thanks for the review.

To start we were lucky our satnav guided us to the front door.A very warm welcome from Hannah on our arrival, and we did noticed straight away how quite and tranquil it was. We were shown all area's of the accomodation and then to our room. All very clean, including the shared bathroom. Our bed was perfect, very comfortable and both of us slept beautifully. The shower was lovely, nice and hot. Breakfast was really wonderful, we decided to have the full english but there were other options as well.
Both Luke and Hannah there to see us off, a really lovely place to stay, and also a perfect location to explorer all areas of the moor.

Great location, very friendly and helpful! Had my first experience of duck eggs too!! Highly recommend. The only downside which is no ones fault was I was in a LWB van and the roads are narrow, makes for interesting driving!!

Great little B&B in the countryside. Beautiful and peaceful Luke and Hannah are wonderful and Hannah does a cracking full English! Highly recommend and the local walks are breath taking. Very reasonable prices too.

I stayed down the road at Lowertown for two nights, while I was renting my own house out for the first time, during the week over Easter. I chose Lowertown because it is nearby, appeared to offer extremely good value for money, yet looked lovely on its website.

I am so glad I did, because it suited what I wanted at the time absolutely perfectly, and more! It does offer excellent value for money and is most beautifully situated on an exquisite little lane near to one of the most stunning parts of Dartmoor of all, surrounded by its own fields and animals.

But what impressed me most was the friendliness and charm of Luke and Hannah. They couldn't have been kinder, more interested, or more committed to providing a really enjoyable farmhouse B&B experience for their guests. I am truly grateful to them for looking after me so beautifully during what could otherwise have proved a slightly traumatic time!

Great 2 night unexpected stay on our uk honeymoon adventure. Found via a late night recommendation at the pub. Owners Hannah and Luke friendly and inviting.
Had a great time out in the yard meeting the animals and chatting about their passion for preservation of the local area, dartmoor ponies and plans for their farm developments.
Simple Warm clean comfortable room and great lounge area with warm fire and heaps of books.
As Hannah herself put it they are aiming 'no frills but warm and clean'.
Would defiantly recommend and return ourselves :)
