“A week tucked away in a charming stone cottage”
Reviewed 9 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Dashel cottage is the smaller one of two adjacent lovely historical stone buildings tucked away in a dale amongst the roaming moors, a 45 minute foot marsh away from the charming village of Widecombe. We had a wonderful stay with Venetia and Norman, who made Dockwell Farm their home sixteen years ago and put a lot of care into renovating the interiors. TV and DVD worked fine and the stove cooperated as well. The WIFI worked reliably, which was good since we had no mobile reception. Also we were glad to find a washer and drier in the barn, since we were out exploring the moors every day coming home happy but very muddy at night.

“Cosy Cottage in the middle of Dartmoor, just perfect!”

We were delighted to have found this cottage which was remote and just what we were after; with a woodburner and supply of logs which kept us cosy and warm in the evenings.
Whilst we didn't cook as we ate out lunchtimes, we found the cottage was certainly well equipped and comfortable.
Reading through the Visitors Book was interesting; to see how many had returned to this cottage several times and am sure that not only the cottage but also its location are the reasons for its attraction as well as the very friendly owners, Venetia and Norman.
Communication was good and they ensured our stay went well, from initial enquiry, the much needed directions over the Moors through to when we left. Thank you.
