“great place for lunch with my mother ....”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 May 2014

Needed a place for lunch in Dawlish. Found the Witched Bowl on Tripadvisor and gave it a go,

Basic cod and chips and a glass of Chardonnay, was really very nice. Clearly all home made from scratch (except the wine).

The lady who served us was very nice, attentive and friendly and polite.

Also very inexpensive

Hugely recommended

“The Witches Bowl casts a magic spell!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 April 2014

My parents and I visited Dawlish on Sunday and came down by train from Somerset. We visited Dawlish specifically to witness what had happened in the storms and the tremendous amount of work that has taken place to get things back to normal.
We applaud the Dawlish community on their spirit and resilience and whilst visiting the shops we asked a lady where we might find a good place to have a Sunday lunch. We were given great advice when directed to the Witches Bowl .The hosts and staff welcomed us in and showed us a table in the nicely presented dining area. The food was great and well presented and the service
was as good as it gets. Highly recommended by us and a great thanks to you all.

“I Don't Believe It!!!!!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 March 2014

I have written reviews on this restaurant in the past. We eat there on a Saturday luchtime on average once a month and on the occasional Sunday lunchtime also. We took some friends there for an evening meal this Friday and once again I have to say the food was outstanding! I was slightly disappointed not to find their slow roast belly-pork on the menu but not for long. As stated in a previous review, the lamb shank was superb and as per usual Jills' home made bread and butter pudding was the best! Excellent service once again from these lovely people, so what was it that I couldn't believe? We were the only people there!!!! So yes, you could say that the place was lacking atmosphere but it is people that make that atmosphere. I will never understand why the people of Dawlish don't support this restaurant more in the evenings. I don't know of a better meal in Dawlish or even further afield come to think of it! It really is a little gem and deserves to be used evenings as well as it is at other times!!
