“They really need to sort out the damp and mould issue.”
Reviewed 2 September 2012

White goods:

Good - electric cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave - clean.

Decor:

Bit shabby - very 90s, and the bed headboard looked like it could tell a few stories.

Storage:

Okay - some chest of draws would have been nice but otherwise - it was functional.

But my word: the damp...and the mould...not good.

In fact, the carpeting was so damp that my suitcase was wet when I rested it on the floor.

There was mould growth in the children's room - wholly unacceptable.

One thing I did like: the resident family of swans - but if you feed them - be warned, they remember the good deed and will actually use their beaks to knock on the door in the morning!

This made me giggle.

What didn't make me laugh - the onsite 'entertainment' - the entertainment was actually surreal, I felt like I was time-warped into a "Hi de Hi" sitcom - without the comedy.

Very strange....

Room Tip: Ask to see your chalet or caravan. If it smells of damp - demand to be moved.

if you want a uncomfortable sleep, freezing cold swimming pool, booking in 45min late, overflowing toilets, cob webs, a dirty sheets, lack of storage, broken hoover, damp smell and a terrible club house then this is a great holiday for you.
Saying all that i would stay again for a very cheap get away. £400 for a week for 6 people for a week in august isn't bad. staff fixed repairs in less then 15 minutes of reporting them.
swimming pool is NOT heated, very misleading as we were told by staff that it was reported but they said it doesn't say how much its heated. not helpful.
beds are mad a double is better a 1 person and pull out bed was broken and really uncomfortable.
cleaners slow and running late 45mins with a really late booking in time of 4.00pm
toilets flooded a few times - they did fix it and said it happens because its fitted wrong
sheets had brown marks on so we had to put it in a bag outside and cob webs in corner and on lights.
storage needs some work a chest of draws would be nice
take an air fresheners and a candle as you will need it. this should be supplied by hazelwood.
club house is poor the worst thing about the site. had a feeling of a British legion not the same prices. need to put some money in this site to make to good.
like i say i would go back for cheap price but that the only attraction

Room Tip: just take a candle or air freshener. this is a must

Most of my childhood holidays where here at Dawlish Warren Holiday Park, as it was called in the 80's and early 90's, and now as a Dad of four it’s still very good for the kids to play, the site has changed a bit, not sure if for the better, the old lake has been changed which is a shame, no caravan's anymore but it’s still ok. Swimming pool was very cold, I can't see how they say its heated! Fish and chips on site are very nice. Shop not bad. Club small but ok. For anyone who remembers the Bananas fritters near the railway bridge will be disappointing to find its been gone now for a few years! The Boathouse does very nice food and has nice views of the sea. One thing that nearly spoilt the holiday was the beach, they have been losing sand for a few year now and its shows, it’s now very pebbly so your need some beach shoe's! The dunes are nothing like before too. It’s such a shame as this was one of the best beaches I’ve been too, I hope they can save it before its gone! Will come again as I have lots of good memories from here.

A very spacious lodge, with so many gadgets to make your experience even more relaxing - dishwasher, fridge freezer, DVD player, cd player, sandwich maker!
The lodge was exceptionally clean, beds were very comfortable and hot tub on the balcony was the highlight of the holiday - drinks under the stars every night whilst bathing in a hot tub - bliss!

Stayed in Hazelwood (50) 2 adults and two boys (2&4) basic but had everything you needed. Swimming pool was clean and warm, also supermarket and fish and chip shop on site. Clubhouse small, but it was just what we need after the noise of Haven. Great value food and drink, entertainments team excellent, met Kirsty from Circus of Horror, my claim to fame! Will be back one day.

Firstly I must thank all the staff at Hazelwood. So what is it about this venue that makes it so good? Friendly staff Helpful staff and that old fashion feel which use to make holidaying in the UK so special. Remember back in the day when everyone arrived at the same time on a Saturday and you begun to get to know me as the week went on well that what happens here.

The closest I can say it's like a Center Parcs location, small lakes ,wild life and a back to nature feel.

Limited entertainment but for the size of the park it was excellent and the main feel to this park is you don't get the party people they must book up at pontins and their welcome to it.

It's a good clean warm friendly park with the best of the old fashion values and it can make you chill out as soon as you arrive. I would favour this park more than any I have ever been to. Try it!!!!

Room Tip: 1 to 20 is Hazelwood accommodation but its close to the road, shop and close the the main areas.
