This was one of the best breakfast's I have had in a long time. Quality, quantity and excellent value for money. Would definitely return and would highly recommend.

Situated in the main street of the pretty Devon town of Dawlish, the cafe promised a friendly, welcoming lunch-stop. It looked inviting with large leather chairs in the window area. We were to be disappointed. The food was OK - the waitress was not. We received no welcome on our entry - maybe because we were pushing a pram and had a toddler in tow- but that was no excuse. We were ignored as we found a table and listened to the waitress chat to two ladies at an adjoining spot. We heard her say that she had not eaten all day as she was not feeling well. That didn't exactly encourage us towards eating food she had handled! However, we were eventually asked for our choices - and I made the misrtake of asking for a baked potato. Twenty five minutes later it arrived - along with a cup of milky tea for my wife. She politely said that she does not take milk in her tea and received the reply: "Then you should have told me!" Black tea eventually arrived and was served with ill grace. We ate and stood at the till waiting to pay - as the aformentioned serving girl busily started shutting up shop - going outside three times to bring in signs from the pavement. When we eventually paid up and left we received no farewell and were studiously ignored. No way to treat visitors!
