We have been going to Fingals for years with friends or just with our kids. We love Fingals, the place is magic and so is the location. We always meet interesting people there and love to see Richard and Sheila. Over the years we have slept in nearly every room, and have had large 40th and recently, 50th birthday parties there too. As others have said, Fingals is more like a friend's house than a hotel. It's not for everyone, as the reviews make clear. But we can't wait to go back for our 60th!
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Eccentric, quirky, unique, relaxed, different - Fingals is all of these and much, much more! A handsome Grade 2 listed Devon farmhouse which is mentioned in the Doomesday Book, Fingals has been family owned and run by Richard Johnston for the past 30 years. Richard has lovingly transformed the farmhouse into a luxurious country house bed and breakfast with self-catering cottages nestling in a tranquil Devon valley set back from the River Dart. As soon as you step through the front door you experience the warmth, relaxation and comfort which seems to hug you as you arrive! It is a home away from home. ... more less
