We arrived on a overcast day in March 2014. I think we entered though the wrong door, the bar.
This immediately put us on the back foot, not very inviting to say the least!.
We were shown to our room by the 'barman' who didn't seem too sure who we were or what was happening. On entering the small ill lit room our hearts sank.
However we decided to make the most of it. We ordered an afternoon cup of tea which took the barman by surprise, again he didn't seem too sure what to do next!.
The first evening meal was a disaster, we thought we'd have a nice steak & chips.( steak is £3.00 extra to the tariff) We failed to eat the bland steak and you just couldn't eat the flowery hard chips!!.
The next day was sunny and very pleasant we had a lovely tour of the North Devon coast.
The following evening we settled for a reasonable curry meal.
Breakfast also on the bland side.
The overall appearance of the The Staghunter Inn is that it is very tired. Yes, visit the area but better to avoid this Inn.More
