“Lovely weekend”
Reviewed 17 July 2014

Booked in for a long weekend at Wheel Farm. Wonderful cottage, peaceful location, beautiful part of the world.
Our cottage was superbly equipped with everything you could possibly want - and a lot more!
Really useful welcome basket full of ideas, information and maps!
Won't be long before we're back!!

Room Tip: I'm sure any of the cottages would be lovely - however we had The Granary which was both spaciou...

This was a real eye opener as we had not been to North Devon before and instantly fell in love with the area and equally the cottages. Our really warm and detailed but unfussy welcome was surpassed by the attention to detail in every corner of the property. I mean where else do you get a constellation map for the night-time star gazing?! Everything worked, everything was clean, everything you needed was present. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, it was wrench to get out and visit the fabulous beaches at Woolacomb and Coombe Martin with so much on offer and in such unspoiled tranquility. Anyway don't tell everyone, cos it'll get too booked up!

Room Tip: Go for the family cottage on 2 floors

Just spent a second stay at this lovely site. A warm welcome from the moment we arrived, everything explained and freshly laid eggs available for breakfast. Woke to a view of the bird feeding fest outside the window. Swimming pool and sauna on site - used on the first day but too much else to do thereafter! The site is well situated for exploring the whole North Devon coast as well as Exmoor. We stayed in the Hayloft, one of the smaller cottages, which takes dogs . The wood burning stove, for which a basket of logs is provided, was a welcome addition on our previous visit (in March 2013) but weather was so good this time that a fire wasn't needed. Couldn't recommend this site/cottage more and we will be returning next year.

A very enjoyable stay over half term for my family of four. A lovely welcome from the staff and a very comfortable and well appointed cottage. The site is sea of calm and tranquillity whilst having space and activity areas for the children. Great location being so close to various beeches. Pool and sauna a welcome bonus. Highly recommend wheel farm cottages for a Devon/beach holiday.

Had a lovely long weekend break at the end of May. Really enjoyed the cottage, pool and surroundings. Staff very helpful and welcoming. Would recommend highly. There are lots of great beaches near by like Woolacombe which our children loved.

From the warm, thoughtful welcome, to the frendly send off - Wheel Farm was a perfect long weekend destination. The location is stunning, and the Farmhouse, garden and grounds were all immaculate. The Farmhouse was more than adequate for our extended family of 7, with plenty of attention to detail to make our stay well catered for. Games, books, local information, a well-served kitchen and more than enough space for spending time together. A couple of dips in the pool, the playground for the children, and a quick game of tennis - all on site. Thank you to Pat for being a fantastic host - taking the time to tell us (well, particularly Seth!) all about the water wheel and the history of the buildings and area. Thank you Wheel Farm - a lovely weekend.

Friendly welcome and tour of the property and facilities.
We stayed in the farmhouse with a private garden - a real suntrap. Lovely comfortable sitting room with massive TV. Good kitchen facilities including large table which seated 12 of us comfortably. The tennis court was a big hit (!) as was the pool and sauna. There are books, magazines and DVDs to borrow at Reception. Fabulous venue for our large family party - thoroughly recommended.
