we have just returned from a 3 night stay at Newberry Valley Park and thoroughly enjoyed the time we had there. The facilities are excellent, very modern and spotlessly clean and is dog friendly. The staff were very friendly and always busy keeping the facilities clean. It is just a few minutes walk downhill to the nearby Newberry Beach and a little further on is Combe Martin. We will definitely be returning to this camping park, thank you Newberry Valley for a great stay

we stayed for 3 nights over Easter to try out our new tent. This must be one of the nicest and cleanest campsites we've stayed at. The amenities were immaculate, the shower block was as good as the reviews said. The staff were very helpful and happy to chat and offer advise. There was plenty of space between the pitches which meant you didn't feel like you were being squashed in like sardines as in many other campsites. Our dog had plenty of walks in and around the site and it was great to be able to cross the road and walk to the beach. Combe Martin itself is a lovely little village/town with pubs happy to welcome dogs which is always a bonus and we really enjoyed the Duck Race on Easter Sunday. We will definitely be returning to Newberry Valley for a longer stay in the near future.

We have just returned from a long weekend at Newberry Valley & wish we had stayed for two weeks! Great site, well run, excellent amenities & just a short stroll to the beach & the town centre! If you are looking for an immaculate campsite, well run & located close to the town centre, then this site is for you! Don't be put off by a couple of reviews that have complained of there being no pavement outside the site.............The pavement is only about a 20 meter stroll down the hill, so nothing whatsoever to be put off by! Alternatively, there is a footpath directly opposite the site which leads down to the beach & town centre. We are already planning or return next year, but this time for a much longer stay!

Stayed for just one night and found it relaxing. Near by town was small and on a week day would have been great to walk around and look in the shops - not so good on a wet Sunday evening! Shower block was brilliant and there is a microwave and laundry facilities so a longer stay would be easy to manage.

Our second time at Newberry Valley and we loved it. Quite busy to begin with as it was Easter, but everything work like clockwork and we never had to wait for the facilities. High standard everywhere, and plenty of space between pitches. We find its a great spot to allow us to access the surrounding countryside and beaches. We kayacked from coombe martin, cycled the tarka trial from barnstable and took a boat trip to lundy. came home for a rest. Although there isnt a bar or cafe on site for the times we didnt want to cook we find the village catered for us including the dolphin inn which has free wifi. That would be are only criticsm it seem quite expensive if you wanted to use the wifi throughout your stay. We will be going back even it so my other half can prove that there are fish in the lake yet to meet anyone who has caught one !

This site is ribbon shaped and nestled in a valley. It has a fishing lake with big fish in it which we couldn't catch. It's an easy walk down hill to the sea, drive if you can't walk up a gentle hill as you need to to get back to site. The site is very friendly and secure with a gated system. The small shop is stocked with the essentials. The staff are very friendly. The toilet block was spotless and the rooms well sized with a shower like a wet room, toilet, sink etc. the room was cool as it was spring and the heating was off, but the showers were warm. There is a dog walking field. The local town has the usual ice cream types, butcher, baker and supermarkets. No real place to get books or DVDs so take these with you. There are some splendid dog friendly beaches close by, including the local one. The lake is beautifully kept and secure if you have kids. Well recommended site.

Room Tip: All the pitches are great, choose if you want to be closer to the lake, dog walking field or shower...

Newberry is a good clean site and well situated just a couple of minutes from the lovely little Combe Martin beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the pitches nicely laid out. It didn't feel too big as some sites can do and the facilities were excellent in general. Very modern and clean, the shower rooms are essentially large wet rooms. Our only complaint is that the showers themselves were pretty poor, if you appreciate a good powerful shower you won't find it here I'm afraid. I have read some reviews that you can hear the wolves from the sanctuary next door but we heard faint howlings on only one night of out 7 night stay and if anything it only adds to the nice atmosphere on the site.
The children's play area is a bit limited and the swing has disappeared unfortunately. Overall a site we would definately consider going back to but hope they do something about the showers.

Dear Paul,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review about your recent stay at Newberry Valley Park. I am delighted that overall you enjoyed your stay with us.

With regard to your comments about the shower pressure, when we changed all the showers from the standard push button type to individually thermostatically controlled showers we did find that, on full pressure, water usage increased dramatically.

In all that we do here at Newberry Valley we try to find an acceptable balance between providing excellent facilities and services whilst at the same time considering sustainability and our environmental impact. Our eco-friendly approach is not only to minimise water usage as much as possible, but also when large amounts of water are used within a short period then it depletes our renewable energy water heating system and in turn uses fossil fuels rather than natural sources to heat the water.

All that said, we are most grateful for your feedback and have already started re-adjusting the showers to see if we are able to get an improved experience for all our customers.

We do hope to welcome you to Newberry Valley again sometime soon.

Dawn Fletcher
