We arrived at the beautiful Coastal Path Cottage early and the owners Sarah & Gordon were very accommodating.
The location is beautiful and the cottage was lovely and very clean. The master bedroom has a very comfortable super king bed with patio doors overlooking the garden. The views are spectacular, right on the coastal path and the lovely garden is fully enclosed which is great for the dogs.
Towels were provided and the softest ones we have ever had in self catering accommodation! I usually take my own but didn't news to use them, the little things make a big difference.
Dog bowls and dog towels were provided too which made packing a bit easier for us.
On our first afternoon we parked at The Hunters Inn which is a lovely pub just a short drive from the cottage. We walked from there along the stream to a pebbles beach area.
On our second day Sarah kindly advised us where the sun was shining, so we drove 30 mins to Saunton Sands beach which allowed the dogs off lead on the whole beach, we then drove to Ye Olde George & Dragon in Combe Martin for a beautiful Sunday Carvery. I recommend booking a table as it got very busy after we arrived at 5pm.
On our last day we walked 2 hours down the Coastal Path to The Hunters Inn, had some lunch then walked 2 hours back.
The cottage was so peaceful and relaxing, couldn't beat the location and it would suit everyone whether it was a relaxing weekend you wanted or a place to go for keen walkers. The cottage guide was very useful with key information about the local area and the local walks vary from Easy - Hard so again, something for everyone.
We had a great weekend & will definitely return.
We stayed for three nights in February with our dog. The cottage is beautifully furbished with stunning views out to sea. The main bedroom is large and looks directly onto the garden with patio doors leading out. The kitchen has everything you could want. Exmoor surrounds the cottage and there is direct access from the garden - it is wonderful for walking with the dog. We saw deer and sheep from the garden grazing on Exmoor. At night the sky is clear and for star gazers it would be perfect. If you are looking for a relaxing break in a stunning location then I would recommend it. Likewise if you want to go out and explore the north Devon coast then this would make the perfect base
As per title, a unique experience. Feeling of remoteness but close to amenities. Sea view, right next to South West Coastal Path, Exmoor National Park.
Cant wait to go back.
