We visited the farm last week, it was so interesting and we tested the various ciders which could be mixed there was also meat to purchase but unfortunately he had sold out so we will have to make the effort to call again when we go back next year. It really is worth a visit.

We visited this week to get some cider for our stay. The lady was great, really friendly and offered plenty of tasters.
Good priced, fresh, tasty cider. So much so we went back and bought more to bring home with us.
The lady was happy to let the children see the pigs and tell them all about how old they were. Deffo worth a trip if you’re a cider lover!!

Our most recent visit to the Cider Farm was in July 2017 and it was a very memorable event as it was the day after was our wedding anniversary and we had car trouble on the track to the farm. Not a good thing on probably the hottest day of the year. However, Mark came to the rescue in his tractor, followed by one of his sons. We eventually got to the farm for some cider and met the rest of the family who were extremely helpful and advised us of the best place to go for proper repairs. We were too early in the season for meat (they don't slaughter their Ruby Reds all year round) but the cider was worth the hassle. This usually has a shelf life of two weeks once it's out of the barrel but if you buy the big "bag-in-a-box" I can confirm that you can have the odd tipple over three months with no loss of quality/taste, but keep it in the fridge.
We'll be back. I've heard that they are going to start doing "experiences" as well as the holiday cottages. I'm sure this family will make it worthwhile.

This is our 13th year of staying in the lovely Mary's cottage adjacent to the farmhouse so that must mean something. We have seen the farm meat business grow and always eat as much of the wonderful farm produce as we. can. The West family are a great hardworking family of farmers and nothing is too much trouble. We look forward to returning for many years to come.
