“Nothing too much trouble - brilliant”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

We stayed for three nights over the bank holiday weekend. Anne, our host was brilliant, warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice. She found out toys for my children to play with. The rooms are large and very clean, and wifi was available. We would definately stay again, and would recommend to anyone. Excellent value for money.

My daughter Helen and me went by car to south West England in August this year. We actually planed a trip starting at the mouth of the river Parrett, following the coastline down to Cornwall and back at the south coast side.
Already in the afternoon of our 2nd day we reached Exford, the heart of Exmoor. Searching for a suitable B&B we found UPOVER. Ann Kennedy, the landlady, was sitting in the inner yard preparing some bunches of flowers while chatting with a neighbour.
After asking for a room and having a small conversation we decided to stay.
The cleanliness, the tasteful country style furniture, the lovely rooms, the comfortable beds, the breakfast and last but not least the warmth and care of the landlady and her husband made us decide to stay for 4 days.
After this we went on to Dartmoor and to the south coast. But very soon it became clear that Helen and me wanted to go back to Upover. And we did.
Ann picked us up in her 4wd-car trying to show us some packs of red deer. And she was successful in finding some small groups. She further showed Helen her horse. My daughter Helen is a horseback rider and so this was a great moment for her.
Ann´s recommendations for the restaurants down in the village and her advice which places nearby are worth being seen did fit well !

Do you want to spend some days in a warm and friendly atmosphere surrounded by a rural landscape, where NATURE and WILD LIFE is written in capital letters, where time seems to move slowlier ? Then you must visit UPOVER in Exford!
We will be back soon!

My wife, son and I were camping locally and due to the great British summer, decided we needed somewhere to shelter from the rain for a night. We were recommended this place and were so glad. The hosts were very welcoming, and even had the travel cot and toys ready in our room for us. The room was huge, cosy and spotless. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, mineral water were in the room also. We were even invited to use the hosts en-suite in the morning. The breakfast was plentiful and great quality and i'd definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Thank you so much for your kind words, regarding your stay with us. I well remember travelling with a small child can be quite exhausting. I also have a Granddaughter of the same age so it was a pleasure to make things a little easier for my guests. Enjoyed meeting you all and welcoming you to the beautiful National Park of Exmoor.

We stayed here whilst competing in the Golden Horseshoe Endurance Competition in May this year. This lovely B&B has excellent stables, so you can bring your horse with you and small paddocks so they can go out and graze. The rooms are spotless, the baths steaming hot and the Breakfast which consists of your choice of home-made fruit salad, yoghurt, cereals, fruit juice, full fried breakfast, toast and marmalade, will keep you going all day. If you just want to sit and admire the views, they are superb. The room we had was equipped with all the extras you would expect including television, kettle, tea, coffee, fruit teas and chocolate sachets, biscuits, hair dryer, comfy chairs and double bed with a 'topper' and electric blanket to make it even more comfortable. Ann says they have WiFi although we did not use it. Our dog was also made welcome. We have stayed here before this year for the same reason and will be returning again.

Room Tip: There are 3 rooms. A double overlooking the valley. a 3 bed family room with the same view and a dou...

Upover B&B is warm, comfortable & spacious. The hosts were really accommodating for two dirty mountain bikers and their bikes. They were also really friendly and cooked a great breakfast. Exford is a great spot to explore Exmoor from with two village pubs / hotels, a couple of shops and a tea room.

Had a lovely peaceful stay at Upover, great location for walking, bird watching and taking in the amazing scenery. Good local facilities, plenty of places to eat out. Ann was able to advise us on places of interest, and made our stay very special. The B&B was very comfortable, great English breakfast, look forward to going back soon.

Exford is a charming location in the heart of Exmoor National Park and the Upover Bed and Breakfast is one of the most beautiful and most calming locations to stay. The owners of the Upover Bed and Breakfast are both lovely people and made our stay one of the most comfortable I've experienced in England. Beautiful sights to been seen throughout the park including wildlife crossing the roads, and the Tara steps where you can get lost for hours in the forest. I will most deinitely be back.

Room Tip: There are great choices for couple and for friends travelling together. All rooms have lovely views.
