Yet another great stay at this wonderful B&B, the owners are just so friendly. We arrived to find two delicious brownies waiting in the room and had one of the best night's sleep in the huge bedroom and super comfy bed. We then woke in the morning to eat the best breakfast in England and possibly the world! Home baked bread with any number of home made jams or preserves followed by delicious options including full English breakfast, muesli (home made obviously) etc. I can highly recommend this place to anyone going anywhere near Exford. Thank you once again.

As everyone else has said, could not find a single fault!
Beautiful room, beautiful house, beautiful surroundings!
The only mistake we made was not getting up for breakfast on the Saturday morning, Sunday morning was fantastic and we realised what we had missed!
Thank You for a fantastic stay!

When I booked, I almost hoped to be able to find fault, just to relieve the monotony of all the top ratings and relentlessly perfect reviews. But it wasn't to be. Edgcott House is every bit as wonderful as everyone else says. I can't remember eating a better breakfast, quite possibly because I never have.

A really lovely place to stay. The room I stayed was very comfortable and spacious. The breakfasts were superb including two types of porridge. Simon and Penney Fitton look after their guests very well and will do a splendid dinner if a party takes the whole house.

Another excellent B&B in Exmoor. We had to search for a B&B of a standard similar to our normal favourite as we now decided to bring our dog. Edgcott House certainly lived up to our expectations and we will be going back in the near future.

Rooms were clean and warm with a good bathroom. Beds were comfortable and we were made to feel very welcome (including the dog). We all enjoyed a good sleep.

The surroundings are lovely and we enjoyed some good walks with our dogs.

Breakfast was some of the best we have ever had in a B&B with daily specialities. The problem was just to decide what to have!

We look forward to visiting again.

Room Tip: Family room was very good.

Firstly, I think its worth mentioning that i have never reviewed anything - be it place or product, however i have just returned from Edgcott House & felt utterly compelled to write a review.

The attention to detail was superb. A slice of homemade cake in the room upon arrival was lovely - no packets of dry single serving biscuits here. It is also always nice to see additional extras in the bathroom - shower cap, cotton wool balls, tampons - a woman (not wanting to sound too sexist!) has clearly put lots of thought into what is often forgotten & needed on an overnight stay.

My room was very tastefully decorated & it was refreshing to see something other than the usual generic hotel furniture - lovely old furniture but sympathetically combined with modern fabrics and details.

I was very impressed with the use of space in the wetroom to the extent that i found myself measuring it to see whether we could incorporate the design into our own home.

I have stayed in many hotels & b&bs but i can happily say that the breakfast at Edgcott House was the best ive ever had. The fact there was a breakfast MENU speaks for itself - so many places are lazy in offering just a full-english or continental option however this morning i was treated to a list of delicious sounding alternatives to choose from. Although Eggs Benedict is one of my favourite things, i opted for the pancakes which were beautifully presented and as light as air - they were just delicious. Looking at what the other guests had, the Full English also looked delicious - not a greasy egg or soggy piece of bacon in sight.

My husband and i are now considering a short break to Exmoor purely so that we can stay at Edcott House again!

Getting out of the car at Edgcott House after the vehicular bedlam of the motorway and the winding rural roads was a pleasure in itself. There was just birdsong and soothing tranquillity. The house and garden were most attractive and when we went to the door (you have to ring both bells), we were quietly welcomed and shown to a room overlooking the garden and countryside. The furniture and pictures were appealing and the bathroom and its fittings gleamed with cleanliness. There was a wall-mounted TV and iPad/iPod dock and strong wifi.

Downstairs were books and an impressively comfortable sitting room with a trompe l’oeil over one of the fireplaces. There was plenty that was interesting and demonstrated intelligent good taste.

It was good that there are plenty of delightful walks from the house and the village is less than quarter of an hour away on foot. It was suggested that we eat at The Crown and it proved a very good choice.

We arrived somewhat stressed. After a walk, a meal and a night in the comfortable beds and peaceful surroundings, we felt renewed.

The breakfast menu was full of variety and temptation and beautifully served.

One night at Edgcott House felt like a holiday. We were sorry to leave such lovely surroundings and the friendly owners but shall certainly return for a longer stay.
