“Best Macaroni Cheese!”
Reviewed 12 August 2013

As we drove into Exford on our way to our accommodation we noticed the sign outside the tearoom saying that they offered curry’s and take away pizzas. My daughter said “that’s want I want, a Pizza”. So once in our accommodation we wandered back into the village and thoughts that we would have a look at all the places open in the evening for food, however once we looked at the tearooms menu we were hooked.
It wasn't all pizza and curry’s with Stroganoff and Duck Cassoulet on the menu that night. My daughter changed her mind and went for the Macaroni cheese and on eating it all declared that it was the “Best Macaroni Cheese” she had had. My Cassoulet was sublime and wife's Stroganoff was delicious. As well as the food, the tearoom has a reasonable range of drinks, including a few alcoholic choices.

“Delicious Cream Tea”
Reviewed 3 August 2013

Called into the tea rooms looking for a cream tea (and cakes). We visited the tea rooms regularly 20-30 yrs ago but haven't been back for some time. We arrived about 3.30 pm on a warm, Summer afternoon and sat outside on the edge of the village green. The couple running the tea rooms were friendly, the cakes and scones were delicious and we would definitely visit again.

“Lovely tea rooms.”
Reviewed 21 June 2013

We called in here twice on the same day, before and after our Exmoor Safari. On both occasions we had our lab with us who was made to feel welcome, as were we.
Great choice of food, all home cooked and yummy. We had the cheese scone first time round and toasted tuna sarnie on the second visit. Both lovely.
No hesitations in returning here.

“Mrs Grumpy's tea room”
Reviewed 15 June 2013

Sadly we didn't make it into the tea room because as we parked we were accosted by a woman shouting at us from the tea room door about parking in the tea room car park. Sadly this put us off going into the tea room and unfortunately gave us a negative view of Exmoor.

Our car park is a large car park fronting the road and opposite our tearooms.
When we see people parking and then going to the Pub next door, we politely ask them to move there car.
If they are deciding whether to go to the Pub or come to our Tearooms just pop in and tell us. We do understand.

“A Cream Tea escape from the rain”
Reviewed 15 May 2013

Dropped in with 4 friends at about 1530 to escape the rain and have a bite to eat. "No, it's not too early for tea, come in." Cream tea was traditional and the scones were very light. A fair selection of cakes and a good strong pot of tea with a jug of hot water to allow second cups! Decor may not be to everyone's taste, but it is spotlessly clean, seats are comfortable and well behaved dogs and children are made welcome.
