Been for several meals here, and enjoyed the chef special pies, but this time though I ordered the venison pie whilst my husband ordered the steak and ale, but both gravies tasted the same and suspect that they were simply made with bisto So thought they were overpriced for what the taste was
Aware that it a dog friendly pub but counted 6 large dogs whose owners think that everyone loves their pet, not pubs fault but does not help to overall experience when they are sniffing around

We were very disappointed to read your review and can only apologise for your disappointing visit.
With regards to the pies, Chef is very proud of his homemade pies but unfortunately for you he has been away for last few weeks and we can only assume his replacement for that time did not quite get it right, something we will ensure is rectified before his next holiday. Rest assured we pride ourselves on offering quality food at reasonable prices and we would not like anyone to leave here feeling that their meal was overpriced. We only wish you had raised your disappointment with us at the time.

As far as dogs are concerned we do try to be pet friendly but do request that all dogs are kept on a lead and we have now spoken to the bar staff to ensure that this is adhered to.

We do hope we can welcome you back in the future to show you that the quality of our food and standards of service are as high as ever

We went for the Carvery Lunch at the above restaurant today 18th August . The setting was lovely, the restaurant and toilets were superb, we had excellent service from Jake, the starters and pudding were excellent as was the Carvery , so why is the title RUINED. It was ruined due to the surliness of the Chef serving the Carvery, he was sullen and rude and no smile on his face, I hope that either he or his employer reads this and takes note. A lovely experience ruined.

Please accept our apologies, both from Management and the Chef himself, for upsetting you in any way. We pride ourselves on our service and hospitality and Chef takes great pride in his Sunday Carvery and did not mean to offend you in any way. Whilst he does have that "miserable" sort of face he is normally very chatty and friendly with our customers, having been here for more years than he would care to remember! Whilst there are no excuses for appearing to be "off hand" with customers, Chef was working under great pressure on Sunday as one of his team was off sick, and we can only put his out of character behaviour down to the stress of the day, but that should not have been allowed to spoil your experience of The Exmoor White Horse in any way so once more please accept our apologies. We hope you can return in the future and experience us in a different light!

We enjoyed eating in the hotel restaurant. The menu was interesting and the specials changed regualrly. It was often difficult to choose, but always delicious. Don't go if on a diet!

The Exmoor White Horse is the largest of the main eating places in Exford with plenty of seating, although it can get very busy at times. There is a choice of Restaurant or Bar menus and the bar has a wide selection of drinks to excite all palettes and dispositions. We eat from the Bar menu which offered a wide choice. My Venison pie was filled to the brim of succulent chunks of meat and was just wonderful. Children's food was good and wife's Fish and Chips were ok, although not the best she has had. However overall I have eaten here before and would happily eat here again

We enjoyed the Bar section ONLY on 3 occasions and had 6 diffrent meals. The menu offers a wide choice, the prices are reasonable and the dish sizes were above average. The quality of the food was very good. The bar staff were very friendly and cooperative (they have free WiFi).
The Inn was popular with groups whilst we were there and when we spoke with some guests they conveyed that the restuarant was very good.

Thank You. We strive to offer excellent food, service and hospitality, in the hotel, bar and restaurant. The choice of Bar Food and Restaurant enables us to cater for differing tastes but all produced and served to the same high quality.

We really hope we can welcome you back in the future.
