Our 1st stay at this gem of a hotel located in a beautiful corner of North Devon. Accommodation, food, and service was first rate. A complimentary glass of Bucks Fizz at breakfast to celebrate Huw & Sam's latest Gold award was a nice touch! It really is an ideal spot for a short break away from the hustle and bustle of normal life.

We very rarely go back to places. We have stayed here 3 times now and will go again I am sure. This place is a gem, well deserving of its varied awards. Huw and Sam and all the team make every one feel welcome. The hotel is so beautifully furnished and decorated. The food is wonderful , fresh, local and well prepared and served. Just love it there.

Sam and Hew are the perfect Hoteliers. Hard work and care for guests is outstanding. Awarded 'Best Small Hotel in England' on 12th May is not a surprise once you have stayed at The Old Rectory Hotel. Thank you for this lovely break, we even enjoyed paying the bill!

Superb country house hotel with beautiful gardens and fantastic dining. Perfect for a special celebration and equally perfect for a wonderful walking retreat. Huw and Sam, the hosts, are friendly and welcoming..... you feel relaxed from the moment you arrive.

Our third time to visit here in 2 years. As friendly and welcoming as ever. Huw and Sam are a great team and have succeeded in creating an environment where you feel more like a house guest than a hotel visitor.
