May was a fabulous time of year to visit as the lovely garden is at its best and surrounding area pretty too. Warm welcome and great hospitality. Great food and some lovely wine choices too. Recommended as a special treat (a yearly one if you can make it!)

Our 1st stay at this gem of a hotel located in a beautiful corner of North Devon. Accommodation, food, and service was first rate. A complimentary glass of Bucks Fizz at breakfast to celebrate Huw & Sam's latest Gold award was a nice touch! It really is an ideal spot for a short break away from the hustle and bustle of normal life.

We very rarely go back to places. We have stayed here 3 times now and will go again I am sure. This place is a gem, well deserving of its varied awards. Huw and Sam and all the team make every one feel welcome. The hotel is so beautifully furnished and decorated. The food is wonderful , fresh, local and well prepared and served. Just love it there.
