Just returned from a break at this hotel. No complaints about the staff or entertainment- both very good -but the room and meals were the worst we've ever experienced.
The food was poor in both quality and quantity - more like school dinners! My husband and I do not have huge appetites but we both left the table feeling hungry after each evening meal.
Worst than that was the room and corridor leading up to it. Both were tired, shabby and in desperate need of decorating. The bedroom carpet was like a mountain range and a definite health and safety hazard! If my house looked like that, I would be ashamed.
Our bathroom smelt of urine and was so small it was impossible to dress in there after a shower! There was nowhere to put toiletries or hang clothes and the only shelf was over the toilet!
We would need a lot of convincing to return!!

This hotel is just fantastic value if you book an all-inclusive holiday. Yes there are downsides - the rooms are a little shabby, but the beds are comfortable, absolutely no complaints about the standard of the cuisine, the staff are always helpful and friendly, the location is right on the seafront, wine included with the meal and a bar you don't have to pay for. What more could anyone want?

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have sea views

On arrival this hotel didn't look too bad and the reception was nice.
We booked a sea view room and paid extra for it, when we saw it this was quite a let down the decor was old and tired. The en-suite was definitely an after thought with a corner of the room just sectioned off.The toilet was a Saniflow system which was very noisy and the shower was old and tired.
To add to our two night stay when we came to use the shower in the early evening there was no hot water on both nights. The noise from the people above moving around was really annoying and also the heat in the room at times was unbearable. I slept on top of the bed as it was too hot to get under the sheets in November!

Thank you for your review. We have a good hard working team of staff, who are always willing to help. As with most jobs experience is gained over time. As well as our standard sea view rooms we also have superior and premier sea view rooms. There are areas within the hotel that do need attention, but feel that what we provide is good value for money and good customer service.
Kind Regards

After reading several reviews we were wondering what to expect. We had travelled on a holiday coach package and to be fair to this Hotel owned by the Shearings Bay Group we felt that this holiday weeks break was 'good value for money'
The room we paid extra for was a front sea view large with reasonable decor and furnishing, our only concern was that the on-suite shower room needed attention and re-furnishment. We did however hear from other guests that they were very disappointed with rear facing rooms.
The meals in the resturant althrough on the lower ground floor with no outside views were adequate, well presented with very pleasant eastern european staff.
Through we did not attend, a good programme of entertainments was available most evenings in the ballroom (also on the lower ground floor). There were several comfortable lounges on the main ground floor and receiption area.
Perhaps our main thoughts were some of the reception staff appeared to be very unexperienced..
The Hotel is on the main sea front and only a few minutes slight walk uphill through public gardens to the town centre.

Budget hotel but good value for money- clean and comfortable bed - very small shower - would be difficult for a large person - food good and very good service - all in all good value for a cheap holiday

Room Tip: opt for a sea view room
