“Great food, would go again.”
Reviewed 11 April 2014

We were staying at the Haven complex nearby, what started out as a quick dog walk on Sandy Bay turned into a coast walk into Exmouth! On a gloriously sunny April day, we were famished by the time we got there. The Pavilions looked good as it had outside seating, and the food other diners had looked great. Tired of fried/fast food we opted for the prawn cocktail (£6.95), and our daughter wanted a slice of chocolate cake. We were served quickly, the waiter warned us about the seagulls but thankfully although they were around they did not bother us. Our prawn cocktail was served on a wooden board, 2 slices of lovely thick granary bread, prawns, Marie Rose sauce, homemade coleslaw, chopped fresh tomatoes and salad. Simple but very tasty. Our daughter could not believe her luck, a vast slice of a delicious chocolate ganache cake, enough for all 3 of us to share! There was a green area right beside us and our daughter was able to run around and play with the dog while we ate. The food bill for the 3 of us was less than £20. A fabulous relaxing meal in lovely surroundings. We will be doing that dog walk again next time we are at Sandy Bay!

“I shall be visiting again”
Reviewed 10 March 2014

I came down on a Sunday for lunch with my friends and even though very busy as the fab weather the service was still great. We had to que to order but didn't take long a tall, best coffee I have had in a long time and reasonable prices! After ordering the catch of the day and a Mediterranean platter we only had to wait 25 minutes on a very busy day which we didn't mind as we were sat outside in the sun. I would give a 8/10 for the food.. Defiantly coming back here again, the staff and manger make you feel very welcome...

“Posh cafe”
Reviewed 2 March 2014

It's a nice place to eat, a little bit pricey , but the portions are large. Some of the staff are friendly. It's nice in the summertime as you can sit out by the lawns also plenty of places to park .

“I was a bit disappointed”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

We came to a show in the theatre and on arrival in the foyer were greeted by a terrible stink; thhe toilets I guessed! It even went - slightly less pungently - into the auditorium. It turned out that in fact it was from the restaurant. Extractor fans or even a window open would be good.

In the restaurant [which was quite busy] the bar area was closed with curtains which meant that it was difficult to get served both with food and with drink for the show. The staff did their best and were friendly if harrassed - the really sad thing in my view was that the coffee came from an "all in one" machine [just press a button instaed of using ground coffee] and the wine was simply decanted out of mini bottles - one per plastic glass. This pace needs to up its game to go alongside the active theatre/venue
