There are few utterly tranquil moments in life, but recently I had the pleasure of spending 120 quality minutes in the company of my Son, Chelsea and Adrian. Chelsea is a beautiful Harris Hawk, and Adrian her wonderfully enthusiastic and knowledgeable handler.
I refer of course, to a 2hr Hawk Walk at Hawkridge Bird of Prey Centre. I could talk for ages on the experience, but on this occasion I will not – it really deserves photographs to do it justice. Suffice to say – if you are anywhere near Hawkridge Bird of Prey Centre you owe it to yourself to make a booking, it could possible be the best £35 (per person) you spend in a while.

Having received a half-day experience voucher as a present, I expected to enjoy my session with the birds but it exceeded all my expectations. It began with the usual impressive flying display open to the public, then it was time for my individual experience. While meeting and handling a variety of the magnificent raptors I learned so much about them as they sat on my gloved hand. After that came the highlight of the afternoon, flying a number of the birds ranging from the smallest to the largest. It's a truly unforgettable experience as they fly from a perch to land on your hand for a tasty treat, then back to the perch before coming for the next snack. An afternoon to remember for ever, one of the best presents I ever had!

Lovely birds, well cared for. Informative, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Three birds flown in display, and came closer than some places.

Very informative and they made it fun, display could have lasted a bit longer than it did but that is a small criticism

Thank Chris M

hi chris
thank you for your comments, we are pleased you enjoyed the display
and yes we would love to put on a longer display, unfortunately when based with in the grounds of another business you are restricted to certain time limits so as not to overlap their events.
we are restricted to 30 mins so we don't over run the dear train, lamb feeding, ferret racing etc we do offer two displays during the holiday season so you have a chance of seeing more birds, but with so many activities being put on by world of country life and the restlessness of some of the wocl's younger visitors 30 mins it is i'm afraid, but it is something we could raise at our next meeting with the park
thank you again for your comments
and we hope to see you again soon

regards
