Amazing hotel......4 poster bed and Scrambled Eggs & Smoked Salmon for breakast....need i say more.....top quality wooden furniture in room and spacious....amazing breakfast and Donatos downstairs was exceptional. The only negative was a slow trickly shower, but nice hot bath.
Beautiful plush bar area and they even let us eat the Italian food from the restaurant in the bar.
The most comfy bed of all time and nice stairway leading up to the bathroom....
Breakfast staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble....
Top class hotel....stay there..........NOW

Room Tip: pick the 4 poster bed ! (room 213)

A good hotel with a very friendly staff who will go out of there way to help you. Parking can be a problem outside the hotel but there is a small carpark at the rear which is is accessable with a lift for your luggage. Despite this being an old building the hotel is decorated in a nice way. The rooms are very clean with good facilities. Front facing rooms have a brilliant view of the Exe estuary and the Dawlish hills beyond. Other rooms may have views of the roofs of other buildings. A good base with which to visit Exeter and the surrounding area of the south Devon coast.

Room Tip: Ask for front facing rooms.

We stayed in Exmouth as we were supporting Gloucester when they played Exeter.
The hotel was in a lovely position with fantastic views of the bay - despite being there in November the sun was shining and it was beautiful
Exmouth itself is not the most salubrious of towns but we weren't there to really see the sites.
Our room was in a new section of the hotel and was nice and large and very comfortable.
The hotel bar was very nice and not a rip off - always good!
The breakfast was good - the sausages weren't the best but overall it was a great breakfast.
We ate downstairs on the first night in Donatos and the food was so good we all agreed to go back the next night - we raved so much about it, that in the end there were 14 of us.
A great hotel, in a lovely location and highly recommended!

We had a two night stay and paid for a seaview - well worth it, but - We found the room hot (the radiator dial seemed to suggest it was off but it was pumping out a lot of heat till maybe 11pm when it seemed to go off) so although I was surprised to find old rattly single pane sash windows I opened the bottom 6" and left it open all night. Had to fold some leaflets and stuff them in the windows to stop them rattling. Luckily it was very mild for end October but I think it could be cold and noisy on a winter's night despite the radiator. Slept well and despite the open window heard no traffic noise from the road outside and woke to a lovely view over the estuary.
Breakfast was fine and 1810 restaurant very good quality and good value. The first night we ate in the Italian - starters and desserts were very good but a bit disappointed in our specials for the main course - lamb cutlets were a bit overcooked and tough, and the crab ravioli was not very "crabby".
Nice to see a hotel bar with real ale and overall we enjoyed the stay and would do it again. When we left we were given a leaflet with some special offers - not sure if they are only for previous customers, but the 2 night DB&B with seaview & champagne seems great value - only £10 more than we paid without Dinner and champagne - if I had known about it upfront that is what I would have booked.

Room Tip: Seaview good but watch for leaky windows

The hotel is an old purpose build building with a lot of history to it. The gentleman in reception is one of the best I came across in a long time. Nice touches to the hotel: the rooms are upgraded but at the same time you feel the grandeur.

Great location just out of the center and few minutes walk to the beach.

Very good Italian restaurant below the hotel itself and a great feel to the bar in the hotel.

Staff friendly and rooms were clean and well presented .

Did not know what to expect of Exmouth but the town was clean, as was the beach and people friendly.
Will return to spend some more time in the area when I get chance - had a great couple of days.
