“Family weekend in Exmouth”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2014

Eleven members of my family including my mother stayed at the Barn last weekend to celebrate her 90th birthday. We were looked after very well, the staff being charming and helpful. The rooms were clean, spacious and the beds very comfortable. This is a beautiful building with lovely public rooms and gardens in a perfect situation to enjoy Exmouth.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the house on the first floor have lovel views.

This arts and craft house is beautiful. The setting is amazing with beautiful views of the sea and fantastic gardens and architecture. If you want corporate sameness don't stay here, if you want family run within walking distance of the beach, town and Jurassic coastal path, in calm relaxing environment, this is the place for you

Just returned home from a really enjoyable stay at the Barn Hotel. Room 6 is huge, light and bright with fantastic views over the garden and onwards to the sea. We have no reservation in recommending this hotel it was just perfect. It is very welcoming, comfortable and relaxed and we felt totally at ease. The breakfast was superb with fantastic service supplied by Sam. Great value for money and we will definitely be returning. We can't understand the negative comments left by others as we experienced nothing to support these. David & Kate Somerset.

Just retuned from a 2 night break in the Barn Hotel Exmouth, What a lovely place ! We had a beautiful room with great sea views, spotlessly clean and very welcoming. We had a lovely freshly cooked to order breakfast and Cheryl and the staff were all very friendly and helpful.
The Barn is about 50m to the sea front and a good 10-15 minute stroll into Exmouth where there are loads of good places to eat so the less mobile may need a car however we would recommend staying here to anyone and hope to return ourselves soon.

Room Tip: We had a superior double with en-suite, very big room with stunning sea views

We arrivedad were warmly greeted by Sheryl,3 bookings arrived at once so she was a little flustered, we were all shown to our rooms, therewas a mix up in rooms, butthat was son sorted, TheBarn is a very old builiding was built in 1896, by Edward Shrober Prior, so don't exoect to see a moerrn interior. It has original features, is well maintained and a garden that is beautiful. We had room 6 that was a superior room, with a large leather sofa that loojsbout onto the garden and beyond the sea. It was a short walk to the beach. Stunning views all round. Breakfast was welcomed the following morning cooked to perfection and lots on the place. Next time will be a 2 night stay. Highly recommended

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2014

We spent 2 nights here over Easter for a family party, and were warmly welcomed to this charming, quirky hotel. The location is fabulous; close to all amenities (15 minutes walk to the town) and next to the beach, but quiet and with beautiful views. The gardens are fabulous for good weather and there is a comfortable lounge when not. The room we had was large, had everything you need and was spotlessly clean. Comfortable beds. Breakfast was very tasty. Dog friendly too.

Room Tip: Especially if you have a dog, room 2 (the garden room) is perfect!

This hotel has so much potential but is much needed repairs. When you walk in the smell of septic or rotten eggs overwhelm you, Cats run all over the hotel including the dining room! The internet service SUCKS only one person in the room can be signed on at a time! The signals are horrible. Sam the 17 year old host is the best thing this hotel has to offer, He was extremely polite and very informative. I believe the owners could care less. It is such a shame because the character is amazing, The beds are hard the furniture looks like they were rejects from a bad thrift shop. I warned you!

Room Tip: do not have Room 2 you can hear every move of the upstairs guest
