We stayed for six nights following a lovely holiday last September. This is a very friendly and efficient hotel in a lovely position overlooking the sea, opposite a pretty park and close to the town centre. It is an old building and as such has many quirky aspects which added to the experience for us. The food is very good with a varied choice and the staff could not be more friendly and helpful. This hotel is excellent value for money with a good breakfast and a good three course evening meal. (The wine and beer were pretty good too!) We will return.

We stayed here two nights but ate out both nights so only had breakfast in the hotel. Our room on the first floor overlooked the sea (through the trees) and had a double and a single bed although we had only booked a double. The ensuite was fairly small and you didn't need to be too fat to get through the curved sliding shower doors. It had obviously been updated of late and was smart. You were served breakfast but it came quite quickly with a fair range of food for 2 star. The staff in particular were most friendly and most helpful. There is some hotel parking at the back with access through the ballroom. This is a two star hotel - don't expect 3/4 star decor/appointments. The fact that Exmouth Rotary & Round Table both meet here must say a lot about its local reputation.

Room Tip: The higher you go, the better the view, but not all rooms face the sea

I stayed with two family members in May 2013. The building is very old so a bit quirky (for me that adds character) but well maintained and clean and tidy everywhere. The staff are unfailingly helpful and friendly. The food is good with a varied choice on the menu and good sized servings. The room price included a three course breakfast and four course dinner - amazing! It is in a great location - near the sea (approx. 5 mins walk), opposite a lovely little park and right next to the town centre (approx. 2 mins walk).

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the south side of the hotel on upper floors to get a wonderful view. Avoid festiva...

We went to Exmouth for a friends party so didn't spend a great deal of time at the hotel. However it was clean and comfortable . Staff were friendly and we had a great view of the sea from our room.
The breakfast was a bit of a let down . I had the English breakfast and the bread was soggy and not really cooked.
Generally a good stop off place but I would have been disapointed if I had been staying longer.

Room Tip: We were in room 5 which had a good sea view.

This was my second visit with a coach party. I did have a back room and unfortunately could hear a lot of what was going on in the next room but that is my only gripe. On arrival we were asked to sit in the bar, we were served coffee and biscuits, our cases were taken to our rooms and door keys handed out personally to the near 40 people on the coach. The bed was comfortable, the food as before was good and plentiful. Service was good and I liked the way that all the staff seemed to work where needed - they made what would have been to some a logistical nightmare look effortless. Entertainment was provided on the three nights we were there. I had a very nice stay and I will be returning!

Room Tip: Room 106 is at the back so avoid if you want a sea view

Stayed at this hotel from Friday, 19/04/2013 to Sunday, 21/04/2013. There were 30 of us in total and we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The food and choice of menu could not be faulted. Stayed on the top floor of the hotel and had an excellent view of both the sea and the bay. Also easy access to both town and sea front.
The accommodation was very good and the bathroom appeared to have had a recent revamp.
I would definitely stay at this Hotel again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the Third Floor have the best view!

We came here as an u11's rugby tour and were greeted with wonderful hospitality and understanding. The catering was great with plenty of food, a good choice of menus and friendly service. The comfortable bar served a good selection of drinks and stayed open long enough for some of the dad's to drink more than was good for them! The hotel itself is centrally located and just a couple of minutes walk from the beach.
