My wife and I have just returned from a five day trip with Just Go Holidays. To the Ashton Court Hotel, Exmouth. All though basic we had a room with a sea view very clean. The meals were very good, a choice of 3, starters, meat course, fish, or salad for mains and several sweets or cheese and biscuits,
There is a lovely bar/lounge/dance floor. We had entertainment on 2 nights. All the staff was very pleasant and helpful. Would go back to this hotel.

Room Tip: our room was clean and had a very nice sea view

We also did a cheap hotel trip to the hotel and I think the majority of their custom is from the coach companies. However, if so many people are dissatisfied and they do not improve their facilities then they will lose this business as well.

Saying that, it could have done with some renovation, but the rooms were clean, the food was reasonable, the restaurant staff were lovely, fantastic view across the estuary and the location is good If you only want a bed for the night, it's fine - any longer and you begin to notice the faults.

The entertainment was dire, non existent on two nights. Two of the coach party came prepared and ran a quiz which was great fun.

Food. ok

Accomodation. small room clean fantastic view

Entertainment. never went so no commment

Location. excellent

The area across the road that as a fantastic view as only two tables no umbrellas for shade this could be a good feature for the hotel a nice drink and a great view.

The hotel receptionist was very miserable during our stay she didn't even look up when i handed my key in at the end of our stay

the hotel was ok food was not to bad restaurant staff were all very good and helpful
but the manager was very rude not very helpful a pleasant smile would not have gone a miss
she forgets that the guests pay her wages
there were a lot of elderly people staying in the hotel not once did we see her offer to help any of
them.
our friends that came with us was poorly for a few days and asked if they could have a dry biscuit as they had a tummy upset but she refused I think they will lose a lot of customers.

We went on a Just Go Coach Trip to Exmouth and stayed at the Ashton Court.I had read the reviews but was pleasantly surprised because, although the hotel is a little tired looking, its clean, the food is good, the bedrooms/bathrooms are clean (and we had a sea view.) The restaurant staff were all very friendly and we certainly had no complaints about the meals. There was entertainment on Friday and Sunday evening but if you didnt care for that, there were plenty of pubs just down the road offering live entertainment. I wouldn't have a problem going back to this hotel. The whole trip was excellent value.
