We have previously stayed in some excellent B & B's in Exmouth but this Premier Inn is well situated on the Sea Front. The price was good and the room was perfect for our needs, we even had a good sea view.

We were not staying at the hotel but decided after a long walk along the sea front decided to pop in for a coffee. Time 11.30am. After waiting a while to be seated although there were plenty of seats we were told we do no serve coffee until 12 midday.

Spent 2 nights here as part of a holiday. This hotel is right on the seafront but also within easy walking distance of the town and station. There is a restaurant within the hotel but if you want to eat out, there is a good choice of restaurants to suit all tastes & budgets. The building is almost brand new and has been built in an impressive style to fit in well with surrounding buildings - it can even be seen from across the River Exe estuary.

Should have known when I first made enquiries direct to hotel in May regarding there being no accessible rooms online at the dates I requested,I asked if the family room would accommodate two carers and a wheelchair person oh yes no problem oh great any chance of a sea view no came a Kurt response we allocate on the day,oh so first come first served says I, no its not like that... attitude kicking in,that would not be fair on our regular customers oh so they take preference do they... Big Sigh from staff
as I stated family room will be fine cutting me in mid sentence. I rang again a few days before arrival to see if they had any cancellations on accessible rooms no sorry you will have to have the family room I asked again if this was spacious oh yes..upon arrival we where early we went into restaurant thought we would have lunch waited for what seemed like ages whilst a member of staff cleaned cutlery right beside us,another staff member came in we asked for a menu only to be told they don't open for lunch but u can have drinks at bar so why after seeing us sit down wasn't we told by the cutlery cleaner..so we had drinks another young lady came over and said I don't think the family room will fit the wheelchair and we are fully booked, what says I after ringing in advance to check u tell me now when it's too late..then 3 staff members huddled in a corner for ages then at around 2.20 it was said like they had done us a big favour we have managed to sort u a bigger room so u r lucky..oh please
don't ask me how after it being fully booked but the.room was fantastic great sea view..only giving this premier inn 3 stars as I believe since talking with other guests I know I'm not alone hope they also do a review
that the staff here let premier inn down I have stayed at a few but have never yet had to complain until now, reception was left unattended on many occasions the coin situation to get out of the car park is a joke it really needs to be updated you have to find staff or queue to get a coin everytime u want to go out its not a pleasant occurrence when you are meet by a stern face.they made u feel a nuisance, staff didn't greet us like other premier inns explaining the good night or
Asking if we needed anything don't hesitate to ask it was a very cold welcome indeed, breakfast was not explained as in previous inns we had to keep asking where things where.i observed other guests checking out without being asked was their stay pleasant or a thank u for staying/ choosing premier inn.another guest stood waiting to check out whilst all staff in restaurant. Note left on reception to say if no one here press buzzer and hold .no one seemed to have a Specific
job. Also I Was holding door opened for wheelchair user to get through when staff jumped in front to get out i guess wheelchair was taking too long and they needed to go on break.the staff here I feel lack life skills this is something that cannot be taught in a class room as if it's not in you then you won't bring out.we have chatted to other guests who approached us to ask info as staff when they were around didn't seem to have local knowledge as to where newsagents were. We found out on Sunday that one couple checked in on the off chance of a room on the Sat bearing in mind we were told hotel was booked all weekend well they were offered an accessible room but where able bodied they were telling us as the beds seemed low asked were ours low they were astonished we didn't have accessible room to compare theirs too. we didn't get an opportunity to move to this accessible room.mind you the room we where given was outstanding and oh yeah the staff had done us a favour ..oh please.we had booked a single night in Oct prior to this one so I asked could we have same room no I was informed yet again you have to take a chance can I look at accessible room on Monday before I leave no it's not possible as it may be occupied well if it's not would it be OK yet another no ... So I'm now cancelling the Oct date due to the attitude of the staff ..but I will add that upon check out this morning an older member of staff wished me a safe journey home need more like him....to sum up Room and location great staff not up-to par.

I thought the room was a bit expensive when my husband booked, but it was such a lovely room with a fantastic views that I really had no cause to grumble.
All the staff we spoke to were extremely pleasant and helpful although the frequency of finding the standard "we are busy with another customer" sign on reception was mildly irritating.
Only snags were that the air con seemed to have a minimum temperature of 21 degrees- a bit too hot, and I had to specially ask for decaf coffee.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the front of the hotel with sea views.
