Called in for a light 2 course meal on a sunny Sunday, which was ordered and eaten in the bar. Being near the sea I was looking forward to some good quality fish and my hake was perfectly cooked, the batter light and crispy and the fish moist and easily flaked with a fork. Sadly, however, it was accompanied by some rather sad looking peas and chips, which looked better than they tasted. Dessert was a favourite of mine - lemon Posset - no complaints there - it was the correct consistency and really delicious. The service was young and charming but not the best - we weren't told that we needed to order at the bar so we sat there waiting for something to happen until we finally saw someone else order. We also had to ask for our crumb covered table to be cleaned when they brought our cutlery. Would I go back? Well, only possibly, but we have yet to try the alternatives in Instow, which is a very pretty spot that we would like to revisit.
