walked a couple of miles in the pouring rain to the lighthouse, looking forward to finding somewher sheltered to eat our packed lunch.
We hadn't intended to go in but the lonely guide enticed us with the offer of a cup of tea and a dry room. He told us how lucky we were because very unusually the lighthouse was operating during daylight owing to the appaling conditions.
It was a fantstic visit, very interesting and quite exciting. We left in the rain happy to go on our way. The charming guide made up for our horrid experience at Bay view Bistro in Bigbury (see review) at the start of the week.
Start point lighthouse is worth visiting in any weather.
