Four of us went for a Sunday lunch based on the reviews on TA, and we weren't disappointed. The landlord even went out and bought lambs liver in for us as I hadn't found a pub serving my favourite meal since we arrived in Devon 3 weeks previously for our holiday. It was superb, as was the Roast beef & Roast lamb dinners the other diners in our party ordered. Lovely home made lemon cheese cake and real Devon ice-cream to follow, washed down with good wines and the local Otter bitter - perfect! We will definitely be back!

Lovely welcome by landlord. Nicely decorated plenty of tables. Extensive menu explained by landlord can change accompaniments to meals if like nothing too much trouble. Steak on the rocks excellent reasonably priced.

It is a while since we have eaten here, but we have never been disappointed, Sunday roast, lunchtime specials it is all very tasty and enjoyable to eat. The landlord friendly and his wife an excellent cook, would not hesitate eating here, either sitting at the bar for a drink or relaxing at a table to eat, worthwhile a visit. The locals are fortunate for this little gem,

A lovely little pub in a delightful corner of Devon. I can particularly recommend going on a Tuesday, Friday or Saturday when they do their speciality of "steak on a rock" (do check the days haven't changed before you book!), where they give you a piece of stone that has been heated to 300C and a raw piece of steak, and you cook it exactly how you want it. The steak was absolutely fabulous, and the landlord was really friendly and very helpful.

The only thing that let it down a little bit was that (on a Tuesday) we were just about the only people in there, so it felt a bit quiet and odd ... but all the more reason for lots of you to go!
