Linda the owner and her family, who own the farm were most welcoming on our stay at the cottages. The whole experience of working farm, with converted barn set within, was really enjoyable especially for the children.
Launcheston and Bude are both nearby so there was plenty to do.
This is one family of 5 who will definatley be visiting Frankaborough Farm again soon!

My husband and I decided to have a last minute family break away to Devon. It was that last minute we had not thought about where to stay. We had friends we could stay with for three nights but really wanted to stay for the week. Our friends put the word out to gain some local knowledge. Glowing reviews came back about the farm and its owners.

Well we phoned and was greated by a wonderfully bubbly lady called Linda. She was very friendly and helpful. We explained our situation and she was quick to help. She explained that all her cottages were fully booked but she did have a studio bedsit we could stay in as bed and breakfast "booked" i said. What a relief we could go for the week, my 10 year old was so excited. He would be staying on a working farm. Boys and farms is a no brainer.

Well after 3 nights staying with friends armed with our wellies we made our way to frankabourgh farm. As we drove down the drive my son was so excited he could not contain it . We parked up and went to find someone to check us in. We were met and welcomed by Linda and Dereks daughter and granddaughter. They showed us to the Haven and made us tea coffee and juice. She asked us how our journey was and was armed with lots of information on the area she showed us around and then left us to unpack and settle in.

The Haven was just perfect for us. Joe chucked his boots on and off he went to explore the farm and play area. There is so much for children and big children like me to do on the farm. After chilling and exploring the farm we had a great nights sleep ready for our traditional breakfast.. Well we were not disapointed. We were greeted by Linda who was preparing our breakfast. We sat at a beautifully laid table in the conservatory. The table had fruit, cereals and juices. This was followed by a fabulous full english. I think the stand out moment for us was feeling like part of the family farm life and the freindliness of the whole family.

Well we were not disapointed so far. Beautiful farm, accomadation, and owners.

We spent the next few fays chilling as Joe did not want to leave the farm. He was able to helpout and was taught so much. Nothing is ever to much trouble for them..

We have had a wonderful 4 days and this is definitly up there amoug our top 5 family holidays full of magical memories. 1st for this country.

This is also the first time i have also written a review on trip advisor.

Well we have left and are travelling on the M5 homeward bound for Newbury Berkshire. Joe is in the front still sad hes going home. If he could have stayed with Linda, Derek, James, Raymond and the rest of the family he would have within a heart beat. Im sat in the back of the car writing this review on my phone with our 16 week old daughter happy in the knowledge we have booked to go back in the October term 14. We will have one very excited young man im sure.

When we visit in October will be staying in Rose Cottage and i cant wait. - 8 weeks to go and counting.

I will definitly be recommending frankaborough farm to everyone with and without children. Not only is it a working farm its so close to all other areas like Bude and many more fun days out.

We had a week in The Old Shippen which a lovely period looking cottage with exposed beams inside and a really homely feel. The cottage was lovely and clean and it was a really nice touch to arrive to fresh scones with jam and cream and milk from the farm!

Linda and Derek the owners are the nicest people you could meet and couldn't be more welcoming and accommodating if they tried! Nothing was too much trouble.

Our children loved playing round the farm and seeing the cows milked. The farm dogs were lovely and friendly and really enjoyed attention which was nice as our daughter can be a bit afraid of dogs.

The location is great if you want to be central between Dartmoor and the Coast as both are very accessible so we spent half our time on the coast around Bude and half on the moor which is stunning.

There's free wifi which is great as the signal as you can imagine isn't amazing.

Not more that can be said, a wonderful cottage run by lovely people.

we had the best holiday ever,9 of us and 2 dogs with Linda and her great family, the cottages were first class, the farm was out of this world and our hosts gave us the best holiday for many a year, waking up and finding the working dogs on the doorstep was a joy[cannot believe previous review about fierce dogs] we saw none of that, the children loved working with and feeding the cows and calves, riding on the tractor and quad bike, and also milking, they loved every minute. It gives us great pleasure to give this excellent review as the team on the farm deserve our praise, and they will certainly see us again,we did actually leave the farm for days out [Bude] for example but it was a hard push as we were happy just lazeing around the farm and it's beautifull surroundings.

Room Tip: all the cottages were of the same high quality

There were 9 of us varying in age from 7 to 68 and 2 dogs. We had 2 cottages and both were fantastic. They had all the things you needed to feel like you were at home. The interior design was great. The bedrooms were lovely and all of us slept well. The owners, Linda & Derek, were amazing and made us feel so welcome and by the time we had to leave actually felt like part of the family. The 3 younger children had great fun and became farmers for the week. The patience from Derek, James & Raymond with the children was fantastic and they had the best time. We didn't want to leave and will definitely go back. Can highly recommend to everyone.

Just returned from spending two days in this lovely location. This accommodation is perfect either as a base for exploring the local area or, as in my case, to stay during a photographic workshop at the nearby South West Wildlife. I stayed in 'Haven', which is like a little studio flat all on the ground floor. This room would be fine for either an individual or a couple and has nice furnishings and a very comfortable double bed. Linda and family are very helpful and welcoming hosts and both the breakfasts and packed lunches were excellent.

Just spent three nights at these lovely cottages set in the beautiful Devon countryside. The cottage was clean and tidy and well fitted. Our cottage had a double room and a twin room. There is a bathroom on the 1st floor and a second toilet on the ground floor. The family were very welcoming and Linda supplied the most wonderful breakfasts and packed lunches. We hope to return here sometime to explore the area further
