A comfortable room and hosts that greeted you warmly and welcomed you in. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Great coastal walks and easy to walk to nearby Woolacombe, not so easy to walk back but taxi service available.

This is a small, nicely kept B&B in the centre of the tiny village. Our room was at the top of the house, in the skillings. On the plus side, the room was clean and the bed comfortable; breakfast was fine (although far from special, as many reviewers have opined) and the proprietors very friendly and welcoming. On the downside the room was too low-beamed to be comfortable for someone of six foot or over, the shower room was tiny and the whole place felt dated and tired. It has the feel of an establishment which is being run on a tight budget. The dining room is vaguely institutional. The no-option, 09.00 breakfast time is purely a convenience to the owners, and an irritant to anyone needing to leave earlier. Rockleigh House is neither cheap nor dear - which is fine – it does the job, no more.

We had a most welcoming and comfortable two days in Mortehoe, warmly welcomed by Mark who gallantly offered umbrellas to assist in the then pouring rain, for us to get our luggage in from the car.
We had a very spacious and comfortable room at the top of the house, with a 'sea glimpse' of Swansea. It was extremely comfortable and although the shower room was a tad small for my large-ish husband, there was plenty of hot water and clean towels.
We had the most amazing breakfast, freshly cooked and to individual order, to set us up a the days walking with friends in Woolacombe and surrounding beaches.
We have been visiting Mortehoe to meet up with friends who have a caravan there for a number of years, and the Rockleigh is a gem which will determine when we come in future by whether we can get a room there or not.

Room Tip: If you have mobility issues, then you need to choose a room at the ground floor. The rooms at the...

Lovely welcome from our host, great rooms with plenty of space in a historic house right in the center of Mortehoe,
Lovely breakfast and we would have loved to have stayed longer, but work and home beckon.
Until next time...

Not too many rooms but the best accommodation in town. Centrally placed and with parking for three cars a few steps down the lane. (Try not to park under the tree or be prepared to sluice down your paintwork the next morning!). The restaurant has disappeared, to be replaced by an upmarket takeaway; the breakfasts, cooked to order by the affable host and hostess, are great. No sawdust-filled sausages here.
There are a lot of stairs. If mobility is a problem make sure you ask for the ground-floor room.
We had one of the two attic rooms, which are both roomy enough to allow two people to move around comfortably. The bed was large and very comfortable. The small TV had a built-in DVD player - useful when the Heavens opened.
Our bathroom was small but adequately functional. No bath, but the shower, an electric one, produced a good supply of hot water. The cubicle, however, would only fit a person of normal dimensions. The other top-floor room had a shower over a bath, which might be more appropriate for those of more ample proportions.
Good towels, too, and free wi-fi throughout - a welcome change from more "upmarket" hotels who often charge extortionate rates for wi-fi that's free in most pubs and coffee-shops.

Mark and Dee were wonderful hosts that made us feel very welcome during our stay, and I would thoroughly recommend booking a room at Rockleigh House. This is the best B&B I've stayed in in Mortehoe, and I have been visiting for the last 17 years. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the en-suite was immaculate. Breakfast was superb and was a highlight of our stay, plus a 9am start was really sociable. The location is just ideal for Woolacombe; it takes about 20 minutes to walk in, and only 5 to drive down to the bay, and the B&B is central to all the activity that goes on in Mortehoe too. Both Mark and Dee are delightful and Rockleigh House is so worth a visit.

No complaints at all about Rockleigh House. Mark and Dee were excellent hosts. We had a nice comfortable double bed, plenty of hot water from the shower and lots of good advice on local pubs. We also particularly enjoyed the 'eat-in' 'take-away'.
